ECU, UCF, and Memphis are really no better or worse than Texas, WVU, or Oklahoma State. They would probably finish right in the middle of the pack this year. Southern Miss is another story obviously. Sad to see that program in the shape it's in right now.
I'm not so sure. ECU had wins over bad VT and UNC teams, but the top three AAC schools were a collective 25-3 against G5 but 0-7 versus P5. That's pretty telling.
Texas lost to BYU 41-7. Memphis and UCF both beat BYU.
Sorry, my error: With Cincy loss to VT, the top three AAC teams were 0-8 vs P5. That is really bad.
Quo, how many of those games were road games for the AAC?

Too small a sample size, SEC fan. Look at the teams played. Memphis lost close games to UCLA and Ole Miss, both top 11 and both on the road. Memphis would have beaten a LOT of middling P5 teams.
LOL ... while 2 is too small a sample size, 8 is plenty, especially when contrasted with 24-3 record in AAC.
Sorry fanboy, but the AAC was awful this year. Not only behind MWC, but arguably behind CUSA as well. And Aresco said this was a tweener conference, no a power conference? Hilarious.
ECU has a winning record vs the P5 this year. With a win vs Florida, they could be 3-1.

Only in an AAC fanboy's dream is it "trolling" to point out how awful the AAC's top teams have been against the P5 this year, in a thread about whether certain AAC teams could compete effectively in the Big 12.
This is just too rich.

RE: Big 12 Bowl Catastrophe
I have to admit, I am a bit surprised and not with joy over the Big 12's performance to date. And my guess is you will see flat teams in TCU and Baylor. That could turn out bad.
WVU does have the excuse of breaking in a new QB a few days before the bowl game, but who likes excuses. Not sure about the others.
I will admit, however; I am not one of those SEC types that shouts from the Moutain tops Big 12!, Big 12!, Big 12! when things aer going well either. Not many of us from other leagues are. It's a weird thing.

My experience with fans of SEC schools is they only chant SEC! when THEIR team is winning. They hate when other SEC teams win.

Every AAC opponent is a G5 opponent, eh?
So 29-3, not 25-3.

Quo, I don't know where you are getting your numbers from, but you need to check your arithmetic. In the regular season, the AAC played 44 games OOC. 20 of those were against P5 schools, and 8 against the FCS. That leaves a total of 16 games against G5 opponents for all 11 AAC teams combined.

Here's my math:
Cincy, UCF, and Memphis were all 8-1 in the AAC. That's 24-3 against AAC, hence G5, opponents, because AAC opponents are G5 opponents. Beyond that, they were combined 5-0 against G5/BYU out of conference, so 29-3 overall, though Memphis/Cincy counts as a win/loss double count.

Mark is a master of the understatement. Of course, if it's a comment about the ACC, he becomes the master of exaggeration.
