Gaming network hacker identified, but no punishment.
The PS4, Xbox, etc. networks were down for about 48 hours on Christmas Day and the day after. The leader of the hacker group was interviewed and he said they did it to protest the amount of money made by Sony and other companies. They're essentially anti-capitalist punks. But this guy is barely under 18, so he cannot be extradited to the U.S. He apparently will not be prosecuted. He spoke perfect American English with no accent. They didn't state his nationality; maybe he's Canadian.

For there to be no punishment for this kind of disruption seems wrong to me.

I don't think they are against Sony, Microsoft, etc. making money, I think their point was more "They take in all this money, but they obviously don't do enough (anything) to keep you and your information safe."

It's a valid point, isn't it? They released 13,000 credit cards and Amazon accounts. I am subscribed to Sony's service, so I'm kind of pissed and am hoping that since I paid via Paypal my info (at least my financial accounts) are safe.

No one's info is ever safe at any company. That's life in the 21st century.

They may have a point, but that doesn't matter to me. I think they should be punished. Give them six months probation and place this on their permanent record. No jail time and no fine.
