Coach K was talking about upgrading the schedule, but it looks like more than half of the MAC did a better job.

Stop it. Look who Cleveland state has played. Once these teams get into league play and finish above .500 our SOS will rocket. Expect a top 5 MAC SOS.

I don't know why, but it seems like a handful of people around here have to find something to b!tch about every day. It's getting real old, real fast.

RE: MAC BB Strength Of Schedule
I don't have an issue with the schedule. It's a good mix of teams on there. If UDM, Oakland, and/or Cleveland State get hot in the Horizon, the numbers will get better. What kills the strength of schedule for UT is having Chicago State and McNeese State combine for ONE win over a Div. 1 program. Brutal. How Chicago State maintains its accreditation, much less fields a Div. 1 athletic program, is beyond me.
The MAC overall is still a one-bid league until its members start winning against good teams outside of the conference. Also, there are about 350 Div. 1 men's basketball programs, yet many MAC schools choose to play non-Div. 1 teams for regular season games. That destroys the conference's credibility when all but three teams (Toledo, OU, Buffalo) schedule non-Div. 1 teams. I'm so glad Indiana-Northwest and Rochester are off the schedule.

Beating teams like UT on the road helps"

Was that the season they were banned from the MAC Tournament (a punishment that still bugs me a lot)? Yeah, losing to Chicago State is never good. But good teams sometimes fall asleep at the wheel when taking on filler teams scheduled for a guaranteed win. Just look at Michigan losing to NJIT this season.
According to the school, they'll remain open at least until 2023, so they'll be available for an easy win until then if they remain in Div. 1.

Yep. Would have been our twentieth win.
