I can see how it might be difficult to be positive for someone like that.

Amen to this. 9 wins albeit a disappointing bowl loss, and suddenly tubbs sucks and we should have taken a guy who has never been a head coach and who will bolt the second he has some success. Things must be boring in Manhattan Kansas these days.

I don't know what to think of this year yet...it was up and down. Lot of expectations pre season. They came crashing down when we got waxed by Memphis. I figured then we wouldn't win six games. Then we ripped off seven wins. I really thought we would take Va Tech and we get sacked. Roller Coaster for sure.

Can anyone imagine 10 years ago we'd be so spoiled that 9 wins and a conference title would be considered disappointing? That said there is a pattern of not being competitive with the better teams on our schedule. I don't know if it's Jones fault or Tubs or just natural attrition of switching staffs and losing a recruiting class. I don't think there's enough evidence to definitively say but I'm hoping it's just a product of switching staffs and systems.

Came back? I may not meet your qualifications for a fan, but I have spent alot of hard earned money over the past 10-15 years going to football and basketball games in crappy weather vs alot of crappy opponents, as well as going to scool at UC. I've traveled to bowl games, and NCAA games with money I really could have used for other purposes. I know I don't always see things as positive as other fans, but it's mostly because I don't settle for mediocracy like some bearcat fans do. Believe it or not, there were plenty of people who thought we shoukd keep Minter, which could have ultimately kept us out of the Big East.

I wanted to keep Minter, because Minter seemed like a genius compared with the prior two coaches.

I don't think Tub should be ran out of town or anything. I do feel that 9 wins with this schedule is nothing to get excited about. The old CUSA was a better conference than this current AAC lineup. He still needs a couple more years to get his guys in his system, and I expect the defense to be much imporoved next year. I also expect Boone to blossom into a very solid back.

I think Tubs can guide just fine in the AAC.

Let's look bigger picture folks...the question is this: is he the coach we want and need in the B12 (should this go down). Assuming it is going down for discussion purposes, we need to answer this question.

I don't know the answer. I think the answer is no, but Im not adamant about it.

VaTech has talent. Beamer and Foster are a helluva coaching combo. I had this one chalked up as a loss.

Says a lot about what you think of this program because Va Tech was really mediocre this year.

We had one decent win all year. Every other big game was a beat down. This isn't the reaction of one loss. This is the reaction to a team that ranks 60th in the sagarin ratings (58th in predictor, which he considers his most accurate system). We aren't any good.

Beamer and Foster came out in the second half with that read option with that #9 (? can't remember his number exactly) and it ate our lunch. Hats off to Beamer and Foster. Va Tech has been to 22 straight bowl games, longest streak in the nation, for a reason. Was this their best team, not even close but Va. Tech is still an ACC team with ACC athletes and Beamer/Foster are first class. i would take them both in a heartbeat.

I completely agree. My comment wasn't intended to mean since we struggled to win 7 CUSA games 10 years ago we should be happy with 9 AAC wins. It was a comment about how far we've come since we're disappointed (and should be ) going 9-4.

I know. I've been scouting Northern KY for a facility big enough to hold the many who will cheer for their favorite.
