Akron to renovate the JAR
Better than Fordham is not much of a basketball standard.

There may not be a worse venue than the Fordham venue.

It would be considered an antiquated high school facility.

(O/T: saw the UNH - New Hampshire football facility - another antiquated facility which should be torn down and replaced.)

On the CUSA board they were talking about how much some of the bigger draw schools (UTEP or ODU) do not like the venues of the lesser draw schools (like the Florida schools). The differences between those schools are far greater than what you see in the MAC.

RE: Akron to renovate the JAR
the mac has nice arenas for the most part. it is a pretty classic mid major arena league, unfortunately, some of the schools who used to at least draw 2000-4000 fans a game now struggle to draw a 1000.

a renovation of the jar would basically mean there wasn't a bad arena in the mac. buffalo, western, and kent are nothing special but decent mid sized venues. millet is sorta retro classic and has gotten a touch up. bg, emu, niu, cmu, are all good new buildings. toledo remade savage nicely. the convo at ou is a great old coliseum. worthen at ball st missed most of their classic teams. it's more big 10 than mac design, but maybe ball st can rediscover their glory and get the crowds back.
