He promised as much. He has been given all the tools he asked for. He is now highest paid coach in the MAC.

So we should expect nothing less at least by end of his original contract.

The end of his original contract is 2017, so that seems fair to me.

Agree with both posts. Two strong recruiting classes and a bowl appearance in his second season with mostly freshmen and sophomores. . . . seems like Western's football program is headed in the right direction!

Major...yes! I agree, and am optimistic.

RE: GIVE ME THE BALL!!!!
Even with solid recruiting classes and a nucleus of returning starters I don't think it guatantees anything.

As we saw with Toledo injuries can pile up. Playing high profile P5s can take it's toll. Teams that looked at WMU as a W on their schedule found out different same thing could happen to us. We might get Miami next year, find they are exponentially better and lose. Those games against MSU and OSU could suck the confidence out of us. Terrell or Franklin go down and we could take two steps back.

Unless your name is Alabama or the New England Patriots I dont think you can ever count your chickens.

You are very right, CD. We did get into a little euphoria thing this year, with a string of wins against less than top shelf teams. Then back to earth against the bigger boys.

Improvement with the roster is incremental. Yes, good young ones coming in, yes, several very good seniors leaving. And a tough tough schedule. Next year we struggle to just keep RTB and hope those 3 tough OOC games do not send shock waves through the team.

If we can play those early games smart, good luck with staying healthy, we do have a chance to surprise in the MAC. They are 3 hard games, but you can learn from that to, playing at a very very high level you can become higher level yourself. But it is not easy to do that.

The reason this season was fun is that we all had low expectations.

Once the Broncos exceeded predictions of only winning 4 games and then won 5 and then 6 and then 7 and 8, the fans' excitement increased exponentially.

We have a lot to look forward to, but, as said, it will not be as easy as we would like it to be.

Don't agree with this - not when he finished with a total of ten carries and was thrown to no more than a couple of times. It's a moot point now, though.

One of the most enjoyable things for me about this year's team was our determination to establish the run. The first drive in the second half at Purdue may have been my favorite drive this season, when we went 80 yards exclusively on run plays and punched it in. It's not a coincidence that the offense struggled when we got overly pass-happy in the second half against NIU and in the bowl game (and, for that matter, throughout the Toledo game - as terrific as Terrell played that day, we only put up 13 points in regulation).

RTB. Run. The. Ball.
