Florida State, Clemson and most SEC schools out-recruit the North Carolina schools in North Carolina. The SEC does not need a school in North Carolina for recruiting.

The Big Ten already plays 11 or 12 games against the MAC during the regular season. That's how they get bowl eligible. Why do you need to play more?

They really just need to can it altogether. People don't want to travel to Detroit in the dead of winter, especially during the holiday season.

Bring back the Garden State Bowl at Giants Stadium. People WANT to be in NYC during Christmas and New Years, its a huge tourism draw, and NYC/NJ markets are ideally set up for a Big Ten vs ACC bowl game.

Have you heard of something called the "New Era Pinstripe Bowl"?

Have you heard of the ability to have more than one bowl in the same city/state during the same bowl season?

Detroit, at least around the stadium, is fun and Ford Field is WAY better than the Met Life Stadium. I would go again without hesitation. I just wish it wasn't the day after Christmas.

There's a difference between games at the beginning of the year and bowls. Most of those 11 or 12 games you mention will be pay games like OSU vs. Kent State that are over before they start. A neutral site bowl between a lower Big Ten team and one of the better MAC teams was always a great game (the three MAC vs. Big Ten games there were decided by an average of four points) that's was always attended (51k, 60k, 46k). Most of the better MAC teams like NIU have trouble scheduling a decent Big Ten team for OOC play because they know that it won't be an easy W in September, so the Pizza Bowl gave fans a chance to see a good game between teams that wouldn't usually meet.

The reason the MAC was demoted to having a secondary tie-in for the new Detroit bowl was that the Big Ten has far more to lose in playing a MAC team than they have to gain. Detroit is where a Big Ten team goes if they've either underachieved or barely squeaked in, the last thing they want is a MAC team beating them and picking up momentum on the recruiting trail. With 14 Big Ten and ACC teams now, it'll take a pretty crappy year for them to not fill all of their tie-ins.

UNC's basketball credibility may suffer a big hit once the NCAA and feds finish their investigation into the academic scandal at UNC. If they end up vacating a couple of decades worth of wins, and a few national championships, it would a serious dent into their reputation, as if they didn't have a serious dent in it already because of this scandal.
