Yeah again their are degrees of offensive badness. When a team is already bad at offense, bringing back the worst option simply doesn't make sense. That is actually really obvious. The fact it escapes you should be concerning though.

Next year we bring back Troy, KJ, Cobb, Morman and bring in a big time recruit in Jacob Evans. Who exactly do we want Guyn playing over of those guys?

The answer is an easy none of the above for me. Saving the scholarship in case a transfer comes available makes more sense than keeping G for another year.

Guyn plays with intensity and gives off the vibe that he would go to war for you if he had to. Would like to see him receive a chance at a senior season next year if he can't come back this season.

One positive is that young guards are gaining experience while he is out so they will now be considered battle tested veterans next year.

It's this type of stuff that simply can't be measured and thus needs to be accepted that is the only thing that can be said about G. Things like big game experience, lockdown defender, strong leadership.

First of all, I've never heard of G being described as a leader. Never. Secondly, big game experience only matters if you can play well in big games. G has never shown an ability to do that in his 3 years. He may have hit a shot or two. He has never been the key player in a single victory here. I have already ranted about his "lockdown defense" not translating into actually being disruptive.

What this team misses is three actual leaders in SK, JJ and Titus who were actually good players and leaders. Not an offensive scrub with defensive qualities that every guard but Troy on this team already has.

Probably to counter people who feel the need to keep calling for recruitment of a one dimensional pure shooter who'll likely give up more points than he scores.

Surely there's something in between. We've had lots of shooters and scorers in this teams history who didn't completely suck on D.

I wouldn't mind a field williams, durden type right now. However, right now there are not any playmakers to get good shooters shots anyway.

And that would be bad? Should we compare final four appearances between the three schools. It's not luck that they've won big, there's a reason behind it.

Yeah, there's a reason behind it, it's called a fixer like World Wide Wes who funnels 4 to 5 five star one-and-done players per year into the program. You don't honestly believe UK and UL recruit one dimensional players who only know how to shoot?

Of course not, but I'm not the one who implied that UK and UL's style of play is the same as UC's.

The fact that you like 23 year old G more than 19 year old Morman tells me all I need to know about your basketball opinion.

By the way, G could only dream of being as disruptive on defense as Morman is.

I implied no such thing. Go back and read it.

No I'm asking what does Morman give us...please take your time in answering because this should be good. And saying he's "athletic" isn't going to cut it.

I think Mick himself said that Morman was a guard version of JJ. That's pretty high praise from Mick. G offers nothing and is out of time to improve. Morman has time still.

Morman is an athletic freak who is incredibly disruptive on defense and very quick off the dribble. His ability to break down the defense off the bounce gives him the ability to set other guys up (he has a very strong assist rate for an off guard). He also is good at drawing contact when he gets to the rim and has displayed a solid stroke from the free throw line. His shooting has been poor so far, but said free throw stroke gives hope for the idea that he can improve.

He is also incredibly undisciplined at times, which can lead to a lot of fouls (although that hasn't been as bad recently) and careless turnovers. The good news is that he is a freshman. What you have with him is a lot of upside because of all the positives he has. Also the guys is clearly an incredible competitor.

You have no positives with G: Can't shoot. Can't attack. Can't distribute. Can't finish at the rim. Mediocre foul shooter when he does get to the line, which is rare. And not disruptive on defense. Even poor rebounding for a guard.

Morman over pursues, gets caught on reach ins and turns the ball over more than Guyn. I think he has a much higher ceiling but Morman needs to just stay off the ball for the most part. I think Guyn is a far better on ball defender than anyone they have on the floor currently. Having said that, it's a young team. They're going to take their knocks, I'm going to enjoy watching them develop and especially seeing what they do next year.
