Bahamas Bowl
CMU just went 75 yards on a crazy play on the last play of the game for a TD, then missed the 2-point conversion to lose by 1 point. What a wild game...

RE: Bahamas Bowl
You score the last 34 points in the qame and go for two?

Boggles the mind.

Of course you go for 2. It's a bowl game.

Good decision just not a great play call. Need to give your qb multiple options on a winner take all play

Idk, you score 34 unanswered points and have all the momentum? You kick the extra point and take the momentum into OT. I also have to agree that the play call was poor.

Would also have gone for 2 - but also thought that was a strange play call.

MAC not fairing too well in the bowl games so far.

RE: Bahamas Bowl
I tell ya, I was out shopping and I checked the score and saw 49-14 WKU, in the 4th quarter, and I'm thinking, OK, no need to follow this game anymore. I get home, see this thread, and expected another conversation about the Mac getting dumped on in bowl season again, on top of WMU and NIU coming up small in their games. But wow, that comeback, and that final play...you can't just practice that stuff. I've seen hail mary plays before, I've seen lateral plays before...but never both on the same play! Would have been cool if they could have pulled it off.

So as long as we could take our game...2-3 for the Mac isn't so bad. I picked 'em to go 1-4.

Hell yes you go for 2, you were down 35 points, you are playing with house money, plus it is a bowl game!!!

RE: Bahamas Bowl
I'm not sure if BG or WMU ended up even or favored by a point, but Toledo was the only more than 3 point favorite while CMU and NIU were big dogs. So anything more than 1 win is a plus. Add on CMU's finish... 2-3 won't be too bad at all considering how down the MAC was from turnover of last season.

The SBC won't care if we beat them though because "their two best teams" aren't in bowl games. Anyways, NWO must be a hot bed for football??

RE: Bahamas Bowl
This would be a great bowl game to be part of in the future. All they need to do is move it up 1 day to the 23rd and it would be perfect - or move it back to the 27th. Would not mind being there on Christmas Eve, as long as you knew it early enough so you could plan for it. Get there a few days early and plan on flying out right after the game via charter and you still get to enjoy some late Christmas Eve traditions. Should be less than a 3 hour flight - and if you could fly into Detroit, you are home about 5 hours after the game (still have to clear customs). Might even be better to fly into Toledo vs. Detroit for me given how Detroit manages to make clearing customs and getting out of there pretty tough.

Part of the problem with the MAC bowls is they don't announce them until 2 weeks before the first game. Other conferences announce some of their bowls a week before that.

In a game like that, I vote to go for two as well. But a fade route?? Geez... Running the ball straight behind the center after telling the defense that you were going to run straight behind the center would have been a better play call.
