Yeah, probably not because true fans are apparently measured by number of posts and rep points.

I read your posts and it has been a lot lately. It seems like you are only a fan when we are winning. It isn't hard to be a fan win your team is winning. Temple just beat Kansas and Self by what 30 pts. I guess you are a Temple fan now.

I'm a fan all of the time. Like our coaches and admin, I just have higher expectations for our program than you and some others, and I get disappointed when I see the obvious that will prevent us from reaching those goals.

I want all of our sports programs to have high expectations but I am not going to be a tiger football fan only as you stated you are becoming. I am proud of Fuente and this football team and I will be at every home game as long as I am able to. The same goes for BB. Some times you have to take the good with the bad. This football program is on it's way up and most of us didn't climb on board because they started winning. I can't wait til next year for FB to start. Hope you are at the Houston BB game Sat. because my group will be there.

While you're waiting for next FB season to start you should get out and go to some Tiger baseball games. Best sports value in town and they are also on the rise.

I have been to many of their games and also to many soccer games. I was talking to Richard Mulrooney (man's soccer coach) at a party the other night about what would happen to the soccer program if we do get into the Big 12. He isn't worried about the Big 12 not having Man's soccer. He is a big supporter of us getting into the Big 12.

It'd be nice to see a demographic of viewers who weren't Memphis or BYU fans.

Not all leagues sponsor the same sports.
When we were in CUSA....Kentucky's women's soccer team was one of our conference adversaries.

This is something I'm just starting to go through. Been married for a few years now, and we're expecting our first little one in the next few weeks. With all the prep work to get ready, I've missed a ton of bball games already, and will miss plenty more over the next few months.

I've been thinking I was going to have to make some similar decisions as you did. But for me, I will probably choose football to keep season tickets with and then just attend a few bball games as I can. As someone else mentioned, it's easier to devote time for 12 games (6-7 home games) than it is devote time for 34 games (~19 home). We shall see though. our bball season tickets are cheap upstairs, so I may just keep them to go when I can.

My Wife and I watched the Memphis - Temple basketball game from the hospital room on 2/5/95 while we were in labor with our first child. She was delivered about 5 hrs later. Priorities.

Judging by the standing ovation for the Tigers Football team at halftime of the basketball game a couple weeks ago , there may not be as many basketball only fans as we think there are . But I agree, if all bb season ticket holders bought football season tickets too, we would be in good shape.

I was a UC basketball first fan for years...then we got into the Big East and started winning. Now, it's not even close. I love UC football first and foremost and start REALLY caring about UC hoops around January when conference play starts and on into March.

Football has easily supplanted basketball with me.....

In the long run yes, if, in the short term, it produces a change in a crappy product.

Look what happened in football. Fans quit on porter, we bring in Fuente, and next year you will see the benefits that move makes for revenue for the football program.

Our first was born on 2/4/95. My wife is still mad that me and my parents went back to our house the next day to watch the game, leaving her and baby at the hospital.

But that game may have converted me. I've watched some games, of course, along the way but never followed the team. And the desire to start following the football program may have something to do with what's going on with the basketball team right now, but that kind of passion creates fans. Our football team has it.

A 54-yd field goal to keep us in it, the defense stepping up the whole game, what seemed like a five-minute long play to score in the second OT, the interception to ice it, and even the end when they refused to be bullied by a bunch of trash-talking has-beens (my take on the whole fight thing) -- if that kind of enthusiasm don't light your fire, your wood's wet!

And wait until you discover all the fun we have on Tiger Lane! 02-13-banana

We have what 14,000 basketball season ticket holders? And what 20,000 football ticket holders? And you think 10,000 of those DONT buy football tickets? Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds?
