Exclamation UH Gibbs interviews with Tech / New coaches added to staff
Not what we wanted to hear! 03-nutkick

Houston defensive coordinator David Gibbs has interviewed for the same position at Texas Tech, a person with knowledge of the situation said Tuesday night.

New UH coach Tom Herman said last week that he planned to talk with Gibbs about remaining with the Cougars.

Gibbs, who has one year left on his contract, has expressed interest in staying with UH.

Two new coaches added to Herman's staff...

James Madison offensive coordinator Drew Mehringer and Kentucky special teams coordinator/safeties coach Craig Naivar will join new Houston coach Tom Herman’s staff.

No official announcement has been made. The two coaches shared the news Tuesday via their personal Twitter accounts.

I like Gibbs and I hope he remains in Houston... but if he is interviewing elsewhere than I don't want you here then.

The head coach was fired. Until Herman says Gibbs is my DC, I'd be interviewing for any DC opening available.

He's probably gone, and it should of been expected. He turned a garbage defense into something that ranked in the top 10 nationally. He deserves a big time gig.

With that said, I'm confident in Herman's ability to find a replacement. Having seen Briles, Sumlin, Kingsbury, Holgorsen, Spavital, etc.'s careers all explode after being at UH, you better believe that there will be no shortage of talented applicants.

How many recruits does this cost you?

No clue, but our recent recruiting classes have been garbage anyway.
