True, but you wouldn't think that after watching the 7/6:00 edition of SportsCenter. They spent a full 8 minutes talking about the final TD, showing clips from the CMU coach's post-game presser, praising CMU's persistence, and talking about what a bright future the Chippewas have. Hardly a mention of WKU aside from the final score.

It's honestly gotten comical how ESPN "covers" sports now. You're either invisible or the best thing since sliced bread depending on whether or not they own your broadcast rights. They're like the old pro wrestling announcers building up the guy the booker decided to make the next big star.

it's been going on longer than one would guess....

I hate their business model from a personal perspective.....is akin to all other media types....

people live in the land of tmz with thumbs.....it's all they know

(back to the final play)....

I have now witnessed (all live..I'm a junkie) the stanford, buffalo bills, and now this one in the club of greatest final plays 'when you knew something was coming'.....cmu executed that one as flawless as taking a morning leak....

Actually, that's why you go for 2.

You go for OT, you get a coin flip, commercials, back n' forth... would've given WKU time to regroup and take a breath. No, you take it to a stunned WKU standing around petrified.

But that fade to the corner... I hate that call. It's a low success play.

Agree with the playcall but i disagree. CMU scored 34 straight pts. I like their chances in OT. You go for two if you think you cant win in OT

Kick the extra point and go to OT. They were stopping WKU and WKU couldn't stop them

Up 49-14 WKU stopped running their real offense and just ran, for the most part. Keep running your offense and WKU wins 70-28. Keep the gas pedal to the floor.

.
I have know idea why we didn't keep playing like we had been but we decided to go conservative and it nearly lead to what would have been the most gut wrenching loss in WKU football history.
I hope Brohm learned from this to just keep playing like you have been and you win going away.

We won and have the trophy..That being said I wish our DC was gone after this season but I have no idea why our offense quit being ourselves and started running clock...We are a fast pace offense and that is what we are...You cannot quit doing what you do mid stream and expect same results...Credit UCM, they did what they needed to do, but offense was really bad, did not help we lost Allen but still DO WHAT YOU DO!!!

When I left the TV for a little early Christmas Eve Family Time; It looked like the WKU Juggernaut was in flight! Boy, did the Hilltopper
defense just fold up their tent? INCREDIBLE but congrats anyway!

CUSA now 2-1 in Bowls. With Rice its about to be 3-1.

Toppers...stay focused on the WIN. There are no style points awarded in football. A Win is a Win and that's all that matters!

At the end of the day, folks will remember this season as a very good 8-5 season with a great win over Marshall, and quality wins over both Navy and Army, PLUS a Bowl win. You were 2-0 against the MAC!

Do you think ESPN is going to give any of us any credit for what we've done? Nope...that's not good TV. Never happen!

Before anyone bashes me on being ignorant of the story line in play, I know the story line I've seen it a dozen times since that's all that ESPN wants to talk about it. But WKU needs our collective support at the moment to remind them of the positives. We've all had games where a win felt hard won. But it's still a win.

I think Brohm and Co. can use this as fuel for next year. Leave no doubt. Never let up. It is the other teams job to stop you. Never stop yourself.

Kindly explain how the team with the most points "didn't deserve" to win. This isn't Dancing With the Stars where viewers and judges award points to determine the winner. This is football, where the team that ends the game with the most points scored EARNS the victory.

People who say "we didn't deserve to win" in this situation are idiots. We didn't cheat. We didn't do anything unsportsmanlike. We simply put more points on the scoreboard than the other team. If that's not "deserving" to win, I don't know what is.

This is reminiscent of our OT victory against UK when we won on a two-point conversion. People used the label of "trick play" to diminish the fact that we won. That's what's happening here.

We just won a bowl game. No "ifs," "ands," or "buts." We won, plain and simple, and we deserved it.

The notion of "didn't deserve to win" is strictly an opinon based on the abysmal second half performance brought about by the coaching staff's decision to switch the offense strategy and allow CMU to gain the momentum and confidence and suddenly they are right back in the game.
Apparently my perception of the game's outcome being different from your's lowers my intelligence to the "idiot" level, interesting.

That's why they lost to USM regular season! Lol. CUSA has much strong offenses and it's not really even close! If app played marshall they would have lost something like 56-14. A powerful offense if very difficult to overcome. It amazed me that that a App fan could post that after the SunBelt was dominated by CUSA this year

RE: Game Thread: Popeyes Bahamas Bowl WKU vs. UCM
La Tech blows out ULL which was a top Belt team
UTEP over New Mexico State
USM beat Appy
UAB trashed Troy
WKU beat and Navy Which beats three Sun Belt teams and scores more on all than that bad WKU defense allowed
South Alabama loses to Bowling Green state which was blown out by WKU And south Al gave up more point than that bad WKU defense
4 games so far which WKU beat and held theyre common opponents to lower scores

Those are just a few games that stuck in my head

Even if FAU played in this game it is still extremely expensive to Fly the short 150 miles to
Nassau and with not many hotel options you have to stay at the Atlantis which can be over 250 dollars a night.
I don't understand why the bowl didn't do a deal with a day cruise where you can drink and gamble on the way to the game and come back to south Florida that night where hotel fair can me much cheaper and also cheaper to fly in and out of.

CUSA/ESPN should move this game to San Antonio & play it in the Alamodome.

Especially those Ape state fans are so delusional may be their vitriol towards charlotte getting a CUSA bid is talking but they are stupid to think that they can beat the upper tier of this conference when southern miss kicked their hinds.
