QB - another year of experience should result in significant improvement for Hare. He was solid but limited this year; next year he will be better
RB - another area of improvement. Cam was special at times, but his explosiveness was only shown past the LOS. Akeem had a great career but his best years were his first few. ACRB will lead a solid group; Huff could be real special
WR - we lose Brown which is huge; but I am hearing Golladay may be even better. We get TLL back; Brescacin and Beebe are proven; Saffold and Turner are ready to take big steps.
TE - someone has a great opportunity to replace Eakes; we need to make better use of this position.
OL - some BIG shoes to fill here; our biggest question mark; but Ness and Conlon are both excellent and experienced
DL - Meehan had a good year, especially early on; but we return a lot of young talented players; Ford should have a great year
LB - next year's group could be our best ever; Mays will be challenged by Payton at MLB; Lemon is solid and Folliard could be something special. We lose Bass who didn't play, and Santa, who played really well, but was more valuable as a leader than a player. Someone (Folliard) has to assume that role, and get everyone on the same page.
DB - we lose Durante, but this group has so much young talent; some of which we have never seen.
Special team - we need someone to step up at Punter and LS
Biggest concern...OLine, back up to Hare. On D..senior leadership.
Tough to not be optimistic...the schedule is a challenge, but on paper, this team could be one of our best ever.
Good analysis.
Team synergy, coaching, motivation, kickers confidence and sadly injuries all make predictions difficult.
NIU does seem to be attracting bigger recruits then previously.
Five years of MCC in Detroit is huge.
Five years of 11+ wins is incredible.
Six years would equal Marshall's record.
CMU beat us by 17 points last year and we play them away next season.
WMU is growing stronger every year with several impact recruits.
They lead the MAC again with the top recruiting class.
They have a young team and could beat NIU next season.
Toledo are the annual favorites.
BSU could upset anyone of the above teams.
Whomever wins the MAC West should win in Detroit, provided injuries are limited.
