Mike Smith...
Since his firing in Atlanta, does he find another NFL gig or do we have a place for him here? Or would he even look at us?

He may take a year off, but I see him coming back as a head coach in the NFL again. Someone will take a chance on him, his record was too good not to.

He would probably look at giving us a check, but we have no chance to get him in any capacity to come here.

It was mentioned on the "Sports Monster" this morning that he was going to be the defensive coordinator for the Oakland Raiders.

10-4, I hadn't heard that yet. Good for him. I was listening to fox sports radio this morning and they made it sound like he was undesirable because of how he carried himself on the show hard knocks this past season, saying he was "soft."

That's a REALLY good landing spot. After the tire fire that Reggie McKenzie inherited, he's done really well in getting the best talent he can with minimal draft picks and all sorts of cap issues. They have some nice pieces there and the AFC West very well could be wide open next year (like NFC South bad).

RE: Mike Smith...
He's a good one. Will be missed by a lot of folks. He was used as the scapegoat for the historically miserable Falcons franchise. Blank should have kicked the pretty boy GM out on Peachtree Street before Mike was let go just to show Mike a little respect if he wasn't going to keep him. I know, I've been following these bums for 40 years. They had NEVER had back-to-back winning seasons until Mike Smith arrived. By the way, he has his Super Bowl ring when he was defensive coordinator with the Ravens. I wish him the very best and hope he gets another chance at another ring before he leaves the game.
