A question from an observor
First let me say yall guys have our sympathy for the loss of your football team. I am aware of the issues between yall and the BOT. Yall are getting the raw end of that.

My question is that if Conf USA boots yall, realistically, what conference do you want to go to and what conference do you think you will end up in.

I am only speaking for myself, but I think alot of Southern Conference fans would love to have you join the conference. I know you don't want to, you want to stay Conf USA. Also, I have ZERO idea if the SoCon powers would want UAB, but I think the fans in general would.

Thanks.

RE: A question from an observor
We don't a have a clue where we'll end up, and best we can tell there was no contingency plan in place when Watts killed football. He kept saying that we'd be in C-USA and contending for national championships in other sports, which sounds utterly delusional.

There's where we hope to be, where we're likely to wind up, and where we're afraid we'll land, and no idea where we will actually be.

I can't imagine the SoCon is a leading candidate but it is a realistic option at this time. I'll respect the members of whichever conference takes us in.

RE: A question from an observor
If CUSA kicks us to the curb I suspect we will land in the Sun Belt. It will provide a very compact regional footprint for competition. The other side to that is the door is open to possibly transition back to FBS football; so given that, our administration may opt for a non-football league (such as A-Sun).

Can't speak for anyone else here, but I'm flattered by your "invitation" and grateful for your empathy. I was really enjoying UAB's tenure in Conference USA, our football team was poised and prepared to become a frontrunner in football in 2015 before this cowardly occurrence took place, CBS Sports just got ahold of the entire Carr Report that they used to sanction our team out of existence and it reads to them like it does to many of us, that we've been hosed.

What is happening to our athletic climate is not the vision of the Father of UAB Athletics, the late, great Gene Bartow, therefore, it is not mine. Nothing less than complete restoration of our football, bowling and rifle teams, the abdication of Watts as President and equal representation/our own Board of Trustees for UAB and UAH will bring me back into the fold. Best of fortune to you and the Moccasins of Chattanooga. And Merry Christmas, too!

I want our programs back and Ray Watts' scalp on a pole outside the football offices.

No, sir! I don't want his DNA anywhere on UAB's campus after this! I want any and everything that resonates with or identifies with him eradicated from UAB...

It'd serve as a warning to future presidents.

I just sent a text to my buddy who did the 30 for 30 for Pony Excess and The Boz saying I wish I had the money to do an expose on why UAB shut football and his response was "That would be cool"

"No members of the UA Board of Trustees could be reached for comment."

"Mrs. Watts doused us with a garden hose when we approached the president's bunker, er, mansion."

Not all our presidents are bad! In fact, we've had like 5 good ones, one incompetent bozo who didn't deliberately weaken us but wasn't that great either, and one real stinker who had it in for us!

Unfortunately, it's the stinker we've got right now. 03-hissyfit

Oh, I know. UAB has had several presidents with vision and courage.

Now we have Watts.

I'm not sure how reasonable a stance it is, but I'm not at all afraid to defend it.
