Just to stick it to KJU, I'll buy a ticket. But the movie looks stupid, so I won't actually watch it. I'll spend 90 minutes doing something else.

Undecided. It looks like a stupid movie, but it would be fun to spend some money to p*ss off KJU.

04-cheers that's the spirit. But seriously the movie is terrible (44% on RT) but it is easily going to get 3x the ticket sales it would have received thanks to North Korea. Just goes to show that any publicity is good publicly and trying to shut something down with force is only going to trigger a larger backlash.

I can't follow what Rotten Tomatoes says on movies.. Usually movies they hate I like and vice versa.. I'd rather watch and decide for myself.

Everyone has an opinion, RT is just the sum total of said opinions. I have gone against RT numerous times as well and have also experienced the vice versa chain of thought.

But to answer the OP.. I wanted to see it before the controversy. I like Seth Rogan and James Franco movies for the most part.. It's good mindless humor.

Sometimes.. But I feel like some of those that contribute to RT take themselves too seriously.

Let's be honest, "The Interview" was not written or made to be ground breaking or Oscar worthy.. Seth Rogan and his buddy got high, had the thought, and wrote something out.

No...but Rogan and Franco were awesome in a recent episode of "Naked and Afraid". Maybe one of the funniest things I have seen on TV in quite a while. Franco took sunglasses and Rogan took toilet paper as their two survival items.

Bingo! I'll watch it, just won't pay for it. Not cause of the pay part, I just can't stand to go to a movie theater any longer.

And for what appears to be a pretty lame topic or subject or whatever and another Dumb and Dumber (an American classic) or Hangover type flick I heard they spent 74 mm on this thing. That's gonna have to be a LOT of people looking to spite that funny little dictator.

I'm a fan of Seth Rogan movies for the most part. I wouldn't pay and go see it in a theater, but if it comes to Netflix I would spend the time to watch it.

I find rating opinions are the worst on comedy. Everybody's got a different opinion of what's funny. Movies like this are usually quite enjoyable for me despite the fact that they're mindless.

just to be clear, you are suggesting that SONY created a "marketing ploy" that involved the leaking of 6 other movies, several of which were considered more valuable than The Interview. A "marketing ploy" that saw the distribution of this movie limited to just 300 theaters when it was originally slated to be distributed to several thousand theaters. All in the name of a film that has been pirated illegally 750,000 times in the first 24 hrs since it was launched because SONY allowed it to be streamed the day it hit theaters verifying why motion pictures companies don't do that.

No. I see no point in spiting myself just to spite the North Koreans. Plus I'm getting older and I try not to waste time in big chunks. Except here of course.

I think I'll wait until they make a comedy about Al-Jazeera interviewers plotting to kill the Israeli PM. That would be a real hoot.
