Surprised not to see ECU receiving votes in the national poll. They were usually very solid during our CUSA days. Same with Tulane. How are you guys looking this year? We need you both to be solid, for RPI's sake.

Regarding the conference vote, I understand Whitting voting for UCF, but whoever else did is an idiot. Not to say that UCF won't be good, but the Coogs are a legitimate Omaha candidate.

ECU baseball is a mess right now. Hopefully coach Cliff can pick up the pieces left over from the Billy administration and make us a contender again.

We have a team that isn't really good at anything, but pretty decent all-around. A regional would be considered a success.

The last few years of Pirate baseball have been tough, I would have been more surprised to see us receive any votes. Hopefully this year gets us back on track.

I think USF has upgraded coaching wise and has some good recruits coming in. We might surprise and finish higher

Probably the same reason we don't have a men's soccer team. Title IX.

Edit: On 2nd thought, since SMU is private, does Title IX even apply to them?

We could probably have a mens soccer team, but they won like 2 games a year.

All I'd reckon. Is CUSA expanding it's tournament or staying at 8?

Tech hasn't been good enough in baseball for a long time, just hired a new guy from Campbell who is loading up on JUCOs

Edit: 8 teams make the CUSA tournament in Hattiesburg with 12 teams playing baseball

Tulane is somewhat of a question mark at this point with a new coaching staff coming in, but we've always been solid and still are. Read recently that we're returning 7 of our 8 top hitters this season, so there's experience there too. This could definitely be a tough conference when it comes to baseball. And title IX does apply to private schools as well.

You got a great coach with that hire. He really did a good job at Campbell. He and his family are also good people.

UH has early top 10 matchup with LSU at Minute Maid Park in February. You can bet that Tiger fans want revenge from the beating at the Box in last season's Baton Rouge regional. It should be a big game atmosphere.
