Or, you know, it's one of our school colors. For those not reading the article: it has nothing to do with the oars or anything. It's about how we wore "potato colored" uniforms.

What will Chuck and his ilk do now?

Put away the butter knives. Block access to the ledge outside the basement windows. WMU uniforms mocked. What depression the players must feel. Look for a downward spiral next season. 03-melodramatic

Meh. They're not wrong, but I don't really care either.

Heh, thought for sure it was going to be about the RTB/oars stuff.

I liked the color scheme.

Not a fan of the oars on unis, but I really like having the brown and gold emphasis back again. The black unis weren't bad, but it just felt like a force-fit and we started looking like gobs of other schools.

I wasn't a huge fan of them at Homecoming, and I'm still not a huge fan of them now.

I love the white helmets, but not crazy about adding the oars.

My favorites are still the all-white's with either the matted brown or the metallic gold helmets. Sharp, sleek, and simply tasteful.

I hate those bowl uniforms. Lose the oars and change the color.
School colors are BROWN & GOLD not beige or "potato".

A tip of my stetson to you, sir.

I didn't like the bowl game uniforms at all. The oars on the helmet and jersey were unnecessary. RTB and the set of oars on the sleeve never bother me; you can barely see them during the game anyways. The slogan is fine with me, but it doesn't need to take over the uniform like it did. It was too much in my opinion.

The best part of the bowl uniforms was the helmets. I liked the white helmet with the gold ghost bronco. Other than that, I wasn't overly impressed. Forget the oars etc. Something about the uni color and the big brown shoulder stripes (filled with oars) just didn't look very good IMO.

I love our all-white roadies, but did not care for the bowl game uniforms at all.

I'm sure there will be a bunch of uniforms worse-looking than WMU's during the rest of bowl season.

It's nice that USA today has decided to write articles aimed at the gay community.

It's the new journalism.

All they want is a click and just vaguely offensive hoping for a comment.

I've heard they are developing algorithms to write these things, cheaper than the $11 an hour writers they have now.

RE: USA Today critical of WMU uniforms
Another viewpoint is negative or positive our uniforms got people noticing so much so that they wrote about and WMU gets public attention.... It's publicity and gets people talking about WMU. Not sure that's what Fleck had in mind but he is out there beating the drum for WMU . RTB and our uniforms for the bowl game got em talking.. it's was definitely a lightening rod and the opinions were out there. WMU has gotten its share of publicity over the last two weeks for sure! Go West! Go Broncos Go WMU
