In the end the AAC Wins
in the end, the AAC wins

memphis football just got a huge tv boost, i bet 1 or 2 more games make espn next year..the memphis football brand just grew

paxton lynch took his first step to notoriety

UCF adds another budding rivalry to its already long list of teams growing to hate them

AAC owned miami bowl was a hit, thousand of headlines have "Miami Beach Bowl" right now for whatever reason, and a historic/memorable first game

and we all got a GREAT game and an entertaing ending

Memphis is not a rivalry.

You have to actually WIN to be a rival.

They're just another team we beat in a given season.

9-0.

Well Said Pesik.

Hey Memphis, the only ties I have to Tennessee is I like Jack Daniels, and Dollywood...But damn, I think I am liking Memphis more and more, as much as I can like a college team other than my Alma Mater.

Congratulations Memphis Tigers, way to bring it.

Yup...nothing but congrats to Memphis. 04-rock 04-cheers

AAC teams/schools get trolled on enough by outsiders. Us conference-mates don't need to add to it.

All things considered, it really is too bad the bowl didnt have a better tv spot. That was a hell of a game, with a Nascar style ending.

Seriously though, I really don't think 1 message board should hold any weight in a rivalry or how an entire fan base is perceived. I get it though, if you don't have a lot of interactions with other fan bases except on here then you will have your own opinions of different teams based off of this board.

I don't think the 20 or so Memphis & UCF fans that read this board are going start a UCF/Memphis rivalry. 01-wingedeagle

in general ... what we get on this board is normally an exaggerated version of how the general fans feel...and i didnt say ot was a rivalry but a biddung one, meaning it could be one down the line...

also the main memphis forum is on this site...their are a couple thousand memphis fans on the forum...even if they arent commenting

Wouldn't it be great if all the AAC schools found success in a big way, and we didn't have to worry about one school or two getting the big invite to a larger conference, but we all became one together. That's what I route for, and it takes supporting conference mates against the rest of the NCAA to accomplish this.

If Memphis and UCF both keep on having winning programs, I could certainly see their games growing in importance for conference standings, rankings, and bowl games, and with something on the line the games could become pretty big in terms of TV and attendance.

Problem is, Memphis and UCF don't play until 2017 and then only every 3 years after that, so not much room for building a real rivalry.

Same with Cincy-ECU and Memphis. Too bad Memphis will be in the West division. Guess all we have to look forward to is stomping Houston yearly. 05-stirthepot

This. It's fine to go back and forth during the regular season and when we're playing each other but there's no reason why we can't root for the AAC to go 5-0 during bowl season!

Absolutely! Our conference has been stomped on by the media all year and if we can't pull for each other to keep from being separated from the so called P5 then no one will. Memphis has a statement win today, and I want 5!

Nope but there are two or three UCF fans that are slowly working on making the entire conference hate them.... This thread should have been a simple congratulations thread but there are some serious classless assclowns on here.

I am coming around to the idea that we need to build up the AAC and that is what's best for every team. I know this would never happen but it would be cool to see AAC teams turn down offers from bigger conferences down the road and become a "power" conference ourselves.
