Only a delusional USM fan would make a post attacking Memphis after they win a bowl game and go 10-3 on the year. Meanwhile USM is still a bottom feeder in CUSA. Sad, but expected. Might be a good idea for USM to actually be above terrible before you attack a 10 win team.

im looking forward to southern miss coming back with a vengance. you guys arent gonna be down much longer. the fans of our schools running this smack must be younguns. memphis knows who owns the football history between us and southern. maybe one day we will be back in the same conf together.

The real D1 schools

Memphis had a great year. Very happy for the Tiger fans. I love being attacked by USM fans for pointing out the obvious. Sorry, but being a USM football fan is not about attacking teams that are winning while we still suck. You congratulate the winning program and hope like hell we won't suck much longer.

USM will be back very soon...of that, I have no doubt.

BTW, that kid from BYU that was bloody (#12) you can see where he gets absolutely tattooed at the 3:36 mark of that CBS clip. The team has a a tradition where they go en masse to the fans in the stands.

So, where the Tigers going to the BYU bench to taunt or were they following their tradition and going to the fans in the stands BEHIND the BYU bench?

Could BYU have thought the Tigers were rushing their bench? Yeah. Could the announcers have thought that? Yeah.

But does that mean their assumptions were correct? Nope. Not at all.

Aside from the reflexive Memphis-is-thugs "analysis" that appeared here earlier, it appears that the vast majority of schools that have played BYU, from Texas to Houston to Oklahoma to Utah seem to almost universally slam BYU for their dirty play.

Even the Salt Lake newspaper had an article about the history of BYU's bad boy rep and how the LDS needs to rein the school in.
