MSN Confidence Bowl Picks
MSN (USA Today Sports) posted an article on Confidence Picks for the remaining bowls and while they picked Memphis over BYU, they incorrectly stated that as a "seed of doubt" Memphis did not play either of the other Conference Co-Champs" I was happy to send feedback to them noting they were incorrect on that statement. That we indeed defeated Cincinnati, in Cincinnati, OH, by a nice margin of victory 41-14. Below is their writing.

Miami Beach Bowl

CONFIDENCE RATING: 26 ... PICK: Memphis over BYU ... REASONS TO BELIEVE: 1) We might be looking at one of the most complete Memphis squads in school history. 2) Tigers QB Paxton Lynch (right) had a completion rate of 65 percent or higher seven times this season. 3) Memphis (9-3) posted eight victories of 10 points or more. 4) The eminently balanced Tigers currently hold top-42 national rankings with passing and rushing. SEEDS OF DOUBT: 1) Quality control worry: Memphis never played the American co-champs -- Cincinnati and UCF. 2) BYU quarterback Christian Stewart (left) has upped his TD-pass tally in each of the last four games -- all victories. 3) Vegas insiders only have Memphis installed as a one-point favorite. Wait...we never played Cincinnati? Great research there, MSN.

So one of their confidence metrics is a Vegas line? Really? Can someone explain to the baffoons what the hell the vegas line is, and more importantly, what it is not.

RE: MSN Confidence Bowl Picks
Last Thursday driving in to work, on radio station 103.5 The Fan, RJ Choppy stated that Memphis was the worst 9-3 team in the country. Did some research on him, seems he was at UT when we beat Peyton and the next meeting when we had the eventual national champ team on the ropes until the last minute miracle pass from Tee Martin.

I blasted him a Twitter, @rjchoppy...

I bet he hasn't even seen Memphis play and may only be vaguely aware that Coach Fuente is the coach which came from TCU, right under Choppy's nose here in DFW.
