Game WeeK: Coppin State
Could have waited until tomorrow, but Coppin State plays UofM TODAY.

I think I remember another school which scheduled UofM and then EMU the next day a few years ago. Two road game pay checks.

UofM is a 23 point favorite (which means if UofM loses the whole sports world will be going crazy). The game is on BTN.

A flier came home with one of my kids last week. It said kids in middle school and high school get in free with a student ID. And kids that are 10 or younger get in free without an ID.

Really, really hope anyone, child or adult, middle school, high school, EMU student makes it tonight.

AND I hope EMU does something special to welcome the guys back.

Dec 23 is a difficult day for a sporting event, but let's hope the welcome is solid.

Would be nice for other athletes, maybe pep band can make a sneak appearance, etc. and celebrate our 2014-15 team and what they've done the last two weeks.

Pep band is a class. So it would be very rare for them to show up before the beginning of what we call the Winter semester.

RE: Game WeeK: Coppin State
I went to one of the games around Christmas a few years back. There might have been 300 people in attendance. Campus is generally shutdown for the holidays by now and people busy finishing up the holiday prep. The crowd will be bad, but our team should win this game easily.

Or maybe, our Pep Band is a class act. Lol. Couldn't resist.

I blame the flat start on the Christmas music they played throughout warm-ups. (Not really, but the music wasn't basketball inspiration at all)

Very flat indeed. Rebounding and defensive effort has been poor so far.

18-14 Coppin State. They are hitting their shots and playing harder than we are right now.

Still no Mike Samuels. Must still be feeling the effects of the flu.

14-0 run. That's more like it. Ray Lee is flying around like a bat out of hell. Impressive all around game for him thus far.

While we think of popcorn, did I hear Chad think out loud, before the game, that maybe Bond could be redshirted because of the team depth?

It is certainly true that Murphy would have three PGs with Talley, Alvano and Bond. Tough to figure the minutes.

He still has that cast on, so maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea. I'd love to see what the kid can do, but I'd rather not rush him back into MAC play, especially when he wasn't able to get any experience OOC.
