Some interesting stats/trivia from the New Orleans Bowl
Disclaimer: The following information was shamelessly lifted in bits and pieces from The Baton Rouge Morning Advocate online and has not been fact-checked.

Quote:The Cajuns became the first FBS program in history to win the same bowl four years in a row.

Before Saturday’s win, they were one of eight teams to have won the same bowl three years in a row.

It was the fourth-largest crowd in New Orleans Bowl history. Each of the top four attendance totals have come in the last four seasons with the Cajuns in the game.

The Cajuns are for sure one of just two teams with at least nine wins and a bowl victory in each of the last four years. The other program will be the winner of the college football playoff game between Oregon and Florida State.

The Cajuns are also in another select group as one of only eight programs in the country to win at least nine games in each of the last four years. That list can grow by two if LSU and Oklahoma win their bowl games to get to nine wins this year.

Terrance Broadway became the first multiple winner of the New Orleans Bowl MVP honors.

The Capitol High graduate completed his first 14 passes, setting an NCAA bowl record for consecutive completions to start a game. The 14 straight completions is also the third-longest in NCAA bowl history.

Broadway’s 26-of-31 pass performance set a New Orleans Bowl record for completion percentage (83.9 percent) and ranked as one of the top 12 efficiency marks in bowl history.

The Cajuns defense arguably could have been Saturday’s MVP, holding the high-powered Wolf Pack without a touchdown — a first in New Orleans Bowl history.

The Cajun defense also held the Wolf Pack to a New Orleans Bowl record-low 124 yards through the air.

It was the fewest amount of points the Cajuns scored in their four-bowl stretch and it still won by its greatest margin (13 — previous high was 43-34 over East Carolina).

After being shut out in the sack department for the last two games of the regular season and the first 59 minutes of the bowl game, Christian Ringo sacked Nevada quarterback Cody Fajardo on the second to last play of the game to break Jeff Mitchell’s 21-year-old single-season sacks record.

Kicker Hunter Stover drilled three field goals in the game, tying former Cajuns kicker Brett Baer and Southern Miss’ Britt Barefoot’s for the New Orleans Bowl record.

The Ragin’ Cajuns held onto the ball for nearly 37 minutes — the highest possession time in New Orleans Bowl history.

The cajuns have been dominate for the past 4 seasons. It would be nice to have 12 members in SBC to have a conference championship game.

Hopefully they can put that game in the evening and not at 10 am

They have dominated the New Orleans Bowl. Playing a virtual home game is a huge help.
