Good win for La Tech. Shame that the 10 million poplulation in the Dallas Metroplex doesn't support the game. I know they have a ton of sports options but if Tech and Ill. together brought at least 20k, you would think they could get 20 or 30k support from the area to make over 50k attendance.

long ways from 10 million in the metroplex but mainly that matchup just didnt interest very many. there are quite a few latech alumni in the area and probably most showed up. 80-90,000 might turn out to see two better teams. I was pulling for the techsters and I'm glad they won. and yes the cotton bowl seats a lot and has been updated a cpl. times lately.

Texas Class 5A state championship - 52,308 04-bow

I believe that was the class 6A division 1 game. The 5A was 43+

OK, we all know everything is bigger and better in Texas. Oh, with the possible exception of the great Georgia Southern University.

In Texas, GS might beat USA by more than 22 points.

well, it is true that high school football is pretty big in texas and the state has a lot of football fans. many people not that are not particularly fans or alumni of the playoff schools will go to watch some of the top college prospects. you will probably always have more interest in and larger crowds for those last rounds of the state playoffs than you will for a game between two out of state colleges that few locals identify with.

I think the attendance #'s are good for now but the NO attendance will get plastered when the P5 match ups start.
