RE: La Salle beats up on Tigers, 67-53
Skerry was not happy tonight with the performance. I was more disappointed than shocked. The 7-1 start just showed that we took advantage of some bad opponents aside from Monmouth. Now that we've stepped up in competition, our flaws have really shined through. Point guard play is not improving. Guard play overall just bad. We get outmuscled inside tonight, especially when TJ and Alex were on the floor. Foster played decently. Nobody else played well. I could tell in the first five minutes tonight that their guards were better and defended well. They didn't give 4 any room to shoot. They took away John Davis' left hand. And well, Hawkins I believe now had 13 assists in 11 games. We had zero assists at the half. Until Byron realizes what a point guard needs to do, he should play off-guard or play minimal minutes. Ivory should go back to starting against Navy on Monday. Good news is that the schedule gets a lot easier the rest of the way and we won't see teams as physical as Temple, Gtown or La Salle.

"Hats off to La Salle. We needed ball-toughness. We looked like a team that hadn't played in awhile. They had the best player on the floor that we couldn't guard-Price. We were 0-14 from three. Either we took bad shots or we were bad shooters. That's on me. I didn't have us ready to play. It's a big-time game. Big-time players play or they don't play. Other than Foster, we didn't have anyone that played at the level that I would expect us to play. Four is here, I love him, but I didn't think he played great. We had a point guard take 10 shots in 17 minutes. He's clearly not ready for prime time. TJ struggled. Alex didn't make a shot. I love John, but he was an atrocity tonight. We were bad in a lot of areas. That's on me. Quick turnaround. I thought we would be more ready to play. Way too many mistakes. I did a horrific job offensively tonight."

I wish they stayed like that. I was worried when they went small. We still outrebounded them. We struggled to get catches. We continue to drive the ball, not matter how much we drill it, and not play off two feet. Whatever I'm doing, is not getting through. We continue to make wild turnovers. Our big theme was drive to kick and then drive again. We just continue to not do it. We're young. All that's stuff is good. I'm not into that. La Salle is a team that would win our league. We're not ready to win our league. I haven't done a good enough job.

Our intent is too be good. Our carryover is lacking against good clubs.

I'm responsible for that. They're here because of me (on taking too much blame).

Four
They are a pretty good team. Some of our catches were out too far. We settled down a little bit in the second half. That was a testament to us not turning it over. Then we turned it over and had some defensive laspes. I got the looks I was accumstomed to getting. They are trying to run me off the line this year.

Pat on Ivory
He's our only guy that is 2-1 assists to turnover ration now. We have to look at him a little bit more. We have to score points off free throw attempts, second shots, third shots, We have to post feeds. Play off that. Drive it, clear it, drive again. We took some wild shots. We want to play in transition, but we have to make sure we get good shots.

Quick turnaround. Scared to death about Monday's game. Team has to play mentally ready to play and not worried about seeing their girlfriend, dog and cat.

I thought Eddie played well. Too many tough attempts in the lane. By my count all points came from layups or free throws. I think McNeill would help these team tremendously on the offensive end. Having another option to spread the floor would open up driving lanes to the basket.
