NMR: MSU upset by Texas Southern
MSU shot their wad vs. us and didn't have it today vs. a lesser opponent.

Speaking of previous opponents, how about Pitt needing OT to defeat Oakland 81-77.

Would've been nice for OU to get that win. We need some of our OOC wins to start picking it up. I feel dirty rooting for Michigan, but the better they do, the better our win looks.

Let's hope Missouri State kicks some MVC butt 04-cheers

I'm with you about Michigan. I hope they turn things around a little. We need that win to be a quality one-as much as I hate U-M.
It looks like LeVert was a hell of a complimentary player, not so great as a lead player. His NBA stock has got to be tumbling.

Like I said in an earlier post, MSU really just a slightly better than .500 team and not a powerhouse. I predict they finish no better than 10-8 in Big ten

State gets better as the season goes on because Izzo is a great coach. This OT loss to Texas Southern is a fluke. If they played 10 times, MSU wins 9, but hats off to Texas Southern. MSU is a good team and will finish high in the Big 10 because of the improved outside shooting they have this season. Let's also remember that Branden Dawson did not play. Go State!

Luckeyone, You received serious flak for some negativity earlier. But with the MSU and UM losses today, these are some significant defenses in your arguments. Just wanted to acknowledge. (UM was probably not an "unbelievable" win, but rather a very, very solid one. and even better it was against a big name that resonates. So I still think this was a better than you are giving credit for... but not trying to argue)

I can make this thread EMU-related by saying:

We were the only D-I team from the state of Michigan to win today.

UofM, MSU, and WMU all lost.

EDIT: UDM and Oakland too.

So only one of six MI D-I schools won...

Faint praise indeed.

Faint praise indeed.

There might be one or two or maybe even three teams from MI going to the Big Dance, but no one looks like a threat to scare Kentucky's SECOND team.

I'm waiting for the jokes in Kentucky to begin (top 3 teams in KY).

This should start an argument or two in Kentucky!!!

1). Kentucky - blue team,

2). L'ville,

3). Kentucky - white team.

It's got to be illegal with what Calipari is doing over there. UCLA could not score against them, it was like varsity vs JV and that was without Alex Poythress.

I agree MSU loss was a fluke, Izzo is a good coach and Dawkins is out which is a major loss. They'll have him back before B10 season starts.

I wish Goins 6'8 the MSU walk on would transfer to EMU.

The 1997 win is looking better and better there is no real good comparison with that team and this one. But it was a great win on the road against MSU2!COGS
