The criticism is that he could have done more to stop it, but he went silent- both publicly and behind the scenes. He quit on us.
Watts placed a hush order on Mackin. Brian did not volunteer to be silent. He was ordered by Watts to go home, stay home, and answer or ask no questions. That is why we have not seen or heard hide nor hair of him since sometime in November. He was ordered to be silent and not to stop it.
That is obvious, otherwise we would have heard from him before, during, and after the fact.

Mackin did not want football to be shut down. This I am sure of. I know he fought it the best he thought he could. I am also pretty certain he did not know it was going to be shut down until about the same time Clark figured it out. He knew it was done about the Southern Miss game as he was like the kid who had his ice cream taken away by the neighborhood bully. The week before we talked and he had fight in him.

Is there more he could have done? I feel like there is and him signing and taking the money is taking a cowards way out. I also am not happy Garrison signed to be fair unless they threatened football if she didn't sign. Then I could see it.

That appears to be what they do is threaten until they get their way.
