RE: Les Miles staying put at LSU.....
The thing I'm not sure Harbaugh will allow himself to be part of any trades. The last thing he wants is to go to another team that is giving up draft picks as those are things he'll need. Since coaches have a lot more power here than players (you can't trade him without consent and you probably don't want to keep him either), I think the 49ers are fairly likely to just fire him or them to mutually agree to part ways. Maybe someone gets something minor for him, but I'd guess against trading high level picks.

Great point, I hadn't thought of that. It isn't a great deal for the 49ers though if it includes them receiving an existing player from the other team. A draft pick is more valuable as it doesn't affect their current roster and doesn't come with an existing contract.

There's a few more programs whom coaches wouldn't leave it for than in the past, but that's because of the general rise in them more than Michigan's fall (a little of both, but only a little of them falling back). I think there is actually a decent chance Michigan ends up with Harbaugh.

Why on earth would you give yourself a grey font for "winning the BTCG but not having the best record"? If you win the BTCG you deserve the scarlet font, as you are the outright champs, like in the traditional era.

I've been back and forth on how to set-up for the new era and how I have it now was kind of my compromise. I keep thinking of ways to change it though and might just make it all scarlet.

From the old era, I liked the distinction between the outright and co-champ titles. It generally (not exact, but generally) gives you a distinction between the good years and the really good years. Teams that win the CCG aren't always the best in the regular season (we had a 4-4 Wisconsin team make it and win it a few years ago) and that's why I went with a grey for some set-up, but I'll admit to not liking that entirely as there is only 1 conference champion now and thus we'll be champions less often and should probably be rewarded.

The one other thing I'd kind of like to incorporate in the current era are the years Ohio State finished with the best record in the regular season, but weren't conference champs. That happened in 2012 (undefeated, but ineligible for CCG) and in 2013 (undefeated then lost to Michigan State in the championship game). The problem with this part is that those years are not technically conference champions and thus I'm divided on if I want to change that to include them or not. I might put those years in grey or black or not at all.

In regards to Conference Champions, it will be better when a Conference Champion has to win two games in a row instead. The possibility of having that one lightning strike is lessened.

I think we are seeing a new future paradigm starting to peek it's head out at us.

If this happens for Harbaugh and Michigan then we will see the beginning of an age where these Universities and their new Big Money will now be able to buy away coaches from the NFL.

Eight million dollars a year? I don't think any NFL team period will want to match that.

Let's just say this...if this is legit Harbaugh would become the Highest Paid Coach in All of Football...he would make more then Pete Carrol, Sean Payton and Bill Belichick:

I have been very vocal in my judgement of how lethargic the Big Ten has been in making their brands, their programs and their Universities attractive to a National market. If this happens then I would have to say that the two Kings of the Big Ten have taken responsibility for this and are moving in the right direction.

Urban Meyer and Jim Harbaugh leading your premier programs? That is a good start.

Agree with all of this.

I have no idea why anyone in their right mind thinks that Les is an option. Every time Michigan has an opening, everyone goes nuts predicting that Les will return to Michigan, and every time Les says that he isn't leaving LSU.

I'm not sure why Michigan fans think they have a chance. They don't. That has been made abundantly clear multiple times. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Michigan will get a great coach. it just won't be Les.
