He's thinking about things from an academic POV. His second team to the Big XII was Rice.

It's honorable, but these are athletic associations at the end of the day - keep that in mind.

Rice and Tulane are off of the P5 board right now - and need to improve attendance before further consideration.

I wouldn't read to much into that. That site is like a relative of Bleacher Report.

The dude lost all credibility as a sensible, knowledgeable writer the minute he listed us as "Eastern Carolina" and "Southern Florida". I just had to stop reading after seeing that.

Oh I think he made the "logic" pretty clear... He sees Tulane as "a school that is not an embarrassment but is a patsy on the field."

Personally, in that line of thinking, I am glad UC only got labeled as an "ACC pass-over."

If that guy was a lawyer making his closing argument to the jury, they would all be laughing uncontrollably.

Yeah, I remember that one. I'm glad I didn't go the B-School while I was at Tulane.

It's interesting that they self-reported it. This seems like something a school would just cover up and pretend doesn't exist.

I'm glad we have a new president. It's time for change.

Attendance is the least of the issues. That would take care of itself with the invite.
It's not even competitiveness really - doing what TCU did on the field would be a big plus, but no one's doing that.

What they lack is real commitment in areas that P5 money can't overcome, under the current mindset.

We will see what Michael Fitts is made from - so far I like his low key m/o. I don't think you get to be the Dean at the University of Pennsylvania Law School by being a fool. At least he's not dyeing his hair green and running around like an egomaniacal as*clown while undermining the program at every turn. If our former President, Scott Cowen, had the ability to co-exist with an able, popular and strong willed coach such as Rich Rodriguez Tulane could have very well been the TCU of the Big XII.
