One of the affects of Luck leaving is that he will be replaced on the CFP selection committee. I don't know how much it actually matters.

Why?

He was a proponent of Ucf to the b12. He was also one of the architects of the potential merger with the bigeast if tx left

And you know this how? UCF didn't get into the B12 while he was at WVU so I don't really think it matters either way.

There was speculation that he wanted UCF to get into the Big East and some have translated that to him wanting UCF in the Big 12. When USF nominated UCF to get added to the Big East, WVU helped push it.

When the merger of the Big East and leftover Big 12, UCF wasnt necessarily a definite addition but it was talked about and I believe Luck was one who had mentioned it. There was several teams that were being talked about as #14 and I tend to believe it would have been BYU or Navy.

I havent found a source that says he wanted them in the Big 12.

There was also an interview where he talked out the split and he mentioned that we would be a good addition. Either way we don't have that void anymore. Meanwhile we are losing out on recruits everywhere due to the p5 bs

He wanted ECU in the Big East. Lots of things happened and West Virginia's priorities changed. They had to look out for themselves or get left behind.

The NCAA creating a new p5 position... Why do I get the feeling something NO good is up again.

This is just part of the process of the separate but equal doctrine slowly being implemented.

UCF couldn’t even get into the old Big East, so I wouldn’t consider him that influential in deciding UCF…or for that matter, USF’s fate.

Luck was known around Big East circles as being a loudmouth and often times expressing views as West Virginia’s AD that were NOT sanctioned by their leadership. He is your classic loose cannon but didn’t really have that much power in the Big12…which is not surprising when you consider the two blue blood programs at the top of the conference.

Luck is an ambitious guy…see his interest in the Texas AD job a few years ago…so it’s not surprising that he would look for a higher profile job that would perhaps restore the type of influence and visibility he enjoyed in the old Big East.

We got into the big east. We were accepted into the big east not the AAC. When USF made it in last time UCF was in a different situation. Additionally genshaft made sure we didn't get in. Second if you don't think Luck had the support or was talking to wvu leadership I think you are wrong.
