Honestly I'm hoping we hit some home runs this year recruiting/transfer wise.

Agreed, although the 2012-2013 season was rough from the start. Remember getting blown out by Illinois-Chicago right after beating Purdue? And losing to Oakland? Or getting completely embarrassed by a Kentucky team that didn't even make the NCAA tournament? That was a tough OOC pill to swallow, and we played in the MAC accordingly, finishing 8-10. This year, we looked much more competent in our OOC slate (Dayton would've absolutely slaughtered our 2012-2013 team), which makes this conference season that much more disappointing.

Samuels is interesting. The guy doesn't have much college basketball experience, even though he's a redshirt junior. Injuries derailed his career. You can see flashes of an offensive game, but he still appears really raw. At worst, he is a big guy that uses his weight well and can rebound. I like his chippiness too...not afraid to mix it up. There is always value with that.

That and he gives good effort. My point is that it sometimes with transfers time to work together as a unit, its not an overnight thing. I wish I knew the solution our 2-3 zone was great until non conference play and then wham.
looked great? We were giving up twice as many points to weaker teams07-coffee3

You buried the team in November after the first game. Don't throw stones in your glass house.

Curious, how are the ladies doing? I don't follow women's basketball. They must be undefeated, right?

Overall, Murphy is average. Too many glaring warts to be in the upper tier of MAC coaches. Yet, he's better than anyone we've had since Braun.

Ok. That's settled. What should we talk about next?
