You know you can just quote the post right?

Either we are shutting things down in 2015, or someone is behind in getting their scheduling done. Why are we so far behind in scheduling?

Yes, but I thought the lead up and reaction was interesting.

If you made that observation in June of 2013, then I'm sure a certain AD knew by then. And if he knew, then the people above him certainly had it planned before then.

Of course, we all know that.

Can we use this as evidence that it was planned?

This is why the players scholarships, coaches pay, etc. are being honored. If someone could show damages then a lawsuit would be filed and during depositions the ugly truth would see the light of day.

Someone should probably screen capture that web page showing the schedules before it disappears.

Edit: Never mind, I see it has already been changed to reflect football's demise. When I originally linked it in 2013, it showed only games through 2015.

I guess then it should also be noted that if in 6/2013, there were only games scheduled through 2015, then there were games scheduled for 2016 after 6/2013, but nothing beyond. Almost like a plan in place. What made them decide to end immediately. Was it the Bill Clark success, or the plan being exposed.

The OCS issue ticked off the BOT enough to make them work on devising a plan to shut it down.

Also, removing Callaway did not make any friends on the BOT - or at least the ones that mattered.

They saw McGee as potentially taking the program up a notch or two.

Man, I was so up for that Tennessee game.

Now I can't even watch bowl games, or even football in general, without feeling glum.

if my memory is correct, the BOT has never bothered UAB football when it was playing at 2-10, 3-9 or the like records. They have reacted with violence whenever UAB showed signs of becoming successful as they did this season. The "Black Friday" Joe Fine committee attack was the day before UAB had two players drafted in the first two rounds of the NFL draft on Saturday (while Bama had NONE).

They struck again when UAB was about to sign Jimbo Fisher as FBHC - when THEIR team wanted him for their newly recruited HC Saban. Now UAB has a good recruiting year followed by an improved record and talk of an even better recruiting class in 2015. They had also hired a compliant President in Dr Ray Watts.

That whole thread was interesting in retrospect.

Wouldn't Calkaways contract have been up after this football season? Let that sink in.

I doubt Mackin was scheduling those games if he knew it was being shut down.

Yes, I pointed that out in post 10 of this thread. The scheduled through 2016 and then nothing after that. Like 2016 was the ending date initially. My question remains: Why did they not stick to the original ending date of 2016?

Because by that time Clark would have it really rolling.

I don't think bowl eligibility would have even been a question given one more year.

I've wondered this also; the actual execution of the execution has an air of panic about it.
