No mention of need for fathers in homes.

Of course there is no mention of fathers in homes. Black people kill each other at an alarming rate because in those bottom areas they have a thuggish attitude, they feel they have to show dominance, and they hate cops, as well as outsiders. That's why they always kill each other, that's why they have trouble with cops.

I thought it was interesting up until this part...

Quote:He calls it "social violence": few opportunities for early childhood development; over-prescription of drugs like Ritalin to black boys; high rates of school suspensions and expulsions; racial profiling; disproportionate unemployment and incarceration; and more

Just more excuses...

Sadly I agree. Excuses that I believe are connected to fathers in the home.

But it has nothing to do with the fact that they are black.

Ask them. It's their preference.

I think that has everything to do with their attitudes. People in those areas are taught to hate cops, rich white men, and think that both are out to kill them. When you're born into hatred like that, it's up to you to get off your ass and do something besides break the law.

Call it stereotyping, call it what you want to, those bottom boys did it to themselves.

And by bottom boys, I'm referring to the people that act like the ones down in Caddo Heights (aka The Bottoms) in Shreveport, Louisiana. They are referred to as the Bottomz Boyz (that's the name of their gang), no white cops will even attempt to get close to that area because those guys are so ruthless.

White papers wouldn't say much if it weren't for their exploitation of black letters.

Also, to be a black paper of any importance to black people, I'd imagine that it would have a circulation more than 3,500.

HipHopRepublican has more readers than that.

The paper has a long legacy, even if declining circulation. I'm not sure it's worth knocking.

Why are people getting miffed at the use of the term "black paper"?

Do you have a problem with Bill Cosby using the term "black media"?

Are there not media outlets that specialize in being "black voices" that are supposedly in such short supply in the media?

I have no problem with the term. Certain posters, no matter how much I respect them, lead me to be suspicious of what they're trying to say.

Well, Bill Cosby just used the term "Black Media". Where is the condemnation of him for that?

Double standard I guess. I wouldn't think that he is using the term "black media" with that tone. I've been posting here a long time and the term "black ____" isn't often meant with positivity.

I never said they didn't. My father raised me.

My issue was what I assumed you meant by "black paper". I thought you were using it as a slight.
