One Stop in JC bought a barrel. Other than the limited run Sinatra edition (a 200 dollar bottle and extremely rare), Single Barrel Jack Daniels is the best that you can get. And they've got a damn good price on it, too. The best part? A portion goes to ETSU football and you get a medallion that goes with the bottle.

Three years ago a full Single barrel was over 10,000 dollars. Go buy these up and encourage them to do another one.

I picked up a couple yesterday and later noticed that the labeling does not mention ETSU in any way. It has a metal tag that says "Specially Selected for" and has "2015" printed inside a football image. I was expecting the University to be somewhere on the labeling. Is this what other people are seeing?

I snagged a bottle this afternoon and may have to get another at that price. The medallion is a football with 2015 emblazoned on it.
The barrel head was engraved with ETSU football and I understand this will be auctioned off at some point.

Yes that is what it is and is very nice but I was expected "ETSU football" on the medallion. I think that barrel will bring a lot of money in February.

Probably a licensing issue a la the t-shirt debacle here.

Barrel tops are awesome. I have an Ole Smokey and an Old Forrester bourbon. Very neat pieces hanging up. The university can't put its' name on liquor logos. NCAA rules if I'm not mistaken.

Update: They sold them completely out BEFORE Christmas. The owner was apparently very pleased in how it went and is interested in doing something similar down the road, but maybe with another brand. I'd prefer they stay with Single Barrel, but what do you all think?
