Other CAA MBB teams
Elon is holding their own against #2 Duke right now.

UNCW was VERY close against #4 Louisville the other day.

The CAA really doesn't get enough respect...

And also these teams are making plays I know our team is quite frankly not athletic enough to pull off.

Our recruiting REALLY seems to lack behind other CAA teams (look at player ratings on Verbal Commits) aside from grabbing Kevin Roland. What do you think makes us lack behind so much in recruiting year after year? Convo?

not sure how much weight I put in the star ratings on verbal commits- JMU's recruits seem as talented or more than most of the teams in conference- McLean for example he's 2 star same with Hall- I think they are as talented as any freshmen in the CAA will be.

RE: Other CAA MBB teams
JMU needs to commit to Matt long term or replace him. He is once again coaching for a contract extension this year. If JMU does not want the guy, then stop giving him three year contracts. This year would be the right year to let Matt go. There are no Seniors on this team so a new coach would come into a program with experienced players.

Matt has coached 7 seasons at JMU. That is long enough for JMU to figure out if he is their guy or not. This constant state of limbo over his future hurts recruiting. I am amazed at the talent Matt pulls in given the lack of long term commitment by JMU.

He signed a 4 year extension in April 2013 so he's signed through 16-17 and the contract has an extra year if/when JMU changes conferences so it very well could be 17-18. His current contract status shouldn't hamper him from a recruiting standpoint.

97 --

What has to paid to Brady in Year 4? It may not be much. His contract may effectively be a three-year deal. This is an important year for him.

I think the recruits JMU has brought in of late, to include Roland and the Butler transfer (Morgan), are generally good. Concur that McLean and Hall are both excellent prospects for the CAA. And the maligned class of two years ago has produced Dalembert and Kent with Tommy V. still holding promise.

Drexel lost to the University of Sciences the other day... I don't know how much respect the CAA deserves

Bruiser Flint deserves no respect.

Any conference is going to have a couple of bad teams. UD is by far the worse team in our conference. Drexel has fallen far from grace this season. Bruiser is a tough guy to play for. His act might be wearing thin in Philly.

Every program has ups and downs...let us not forget we lost to a (albeit very good) DII team as well.

Did you see Nation's 3 dunks vs Ohio State? We have plenty of Athletes, we just need to clean up on turnovers.

I don' t think you can dispute that he's obviously our most athletic. Our "normal" players...like Kent...can't even finish a single fast break because there's too many moving parts too fast.
