[UAB], which recently became the first major program to drop football in 19 years, had the second-largest FBS increase in 2014. The Blazers averaged 21,841 fans per game, better than 36 other FBS programs and up 107 percent from last year.

Wow Eastern Michigan really picked it up this year. +271%.

I see Jon Solomon still loves to count things, or at least report on things others have counted for him. He has been extreeeeeemely nice to us this year, so I haven't had a reason to belittle his work lately.

Solomon's focus at CBS is the business of college sports. He has shown to be very adept at breaking things down and getting into the meat of an issue related to running a college team. He had some very informative articles about the o'bannon case. He's good at it. Don't hold a grudge.

I'm not. He has absolutely put UAB's problems out on the national stage, and done a good job of it.

I think once Solomon took a step outside of al.com he was able to see things a little more clearly.

Has anyone sent Solomon's statistical breakdown to the Faculty Senate?

Tim Brando and Solomon have shone light (no offense to night gardener Ray) on this travesty and hopefully someone at espn will take it a step further with a real expose.

Apparently the only way 30for30 will touch it is if we can tie it to the University of Miami. That's all they do now.

It's all about The U!

You know, bringing up Miami here is interesting. I've long thought that UAT's biggest fear is that, given a chance thrive, UAB could be like Miami. It's not as farfetched as it sounds. Florida supports three football powers with one being in a major urban area. Alabama could do the same. Miami had Shalala. We need Condi! Condi! Condi!02-13-banana

I think that if ESPN could have a hand in breaking a potentially 04-jawdrop story about the inner circle of perceived corruption and oppression by the governing body of the most notable college football program in the country in the last 3-5 years, I think they'd seize the moment to do so for the sake of ratings galore if nothing else, because there's an entire country that for the most part would love to see the University of Alabama get 03-nutkick as many have wanted to see happen to "The U."

Biggest problem I see with that now is that ESPN owns the SEC network, and Alabama is the big dog in the SEC right now.

Of course, I feel like fans of every other school would love to see Bama or anything that has the word Alabama or Tuscaloosa in it get 01-scout on, but what do I know. I'm no Bill Carr.
