Was told this morning that 2 AAC schools asked the conference to submit to them in writing the process for withdrawal from the conference.

This was followed by the "Dude" of W Virginia (Christopher Lambert) saying MHver3 was basically full of it. Lambert insisted there were no expansion plans on tap for the Big12 that would involve G5 schools. The whole thing was a little comical, but I throw it out there as it does fit with the recent Memphis/Cinci rumors.

I don't get it... if this were true then both "said" schools should have a full understanding of the process.

LMAO. Yeah, that pretty much causes him to lose all credibility. I think that it is the Dude with an alter ego so he can talk back and forth with himself.

When I read that he tweeted this:

And this:

"WF will probably not be the only casualty of this coming $$ war...probably not the only one in the ACC even."

He officially lost all credibility. Everyone with any knowledge of the ACC or North Carolina Universities knows that Wake Forest is filthy rich, has filthy rich alumni, and has more money than they know what to do with. The only reason they'd ever close the football program is if they simply wanted to piss people off.

I wonder if that moron knows that Wake Forest has been paying its marching band members several thousand dollars in stipends each season since the late 90's. If they're going to shell out that kind of money for 125 band members they can find the money to do the same with the athletes.

MHver3 is FULL OF IT.

I followed that guy for a bit during last realignment madness and quickly unfollowed him after all his crap turned out to be wrong.

It is actually amazing to me that these guys continue to find an audience for their nonsense. They have been consistently wrong at every turn and often times they have demonstrated a complete lack of understanding of how the basic financials work. That should be a cardinal sin and eliminate them altogether but for some reason it has not. I think it is conclusive proof of the old adage that people will believe what they want to believe.

My friends who are Notre Dame fans say that without football, Notre Dame would be Marquette's little brother academically.

I think the same analogy holds true for Wake Forest (although I don't know who the similar comparison would be). Also, it seems from afar that Wake Forest's admins know it (whereas Notre Dame's admins often refuse to consider the possibility that their athletic name brand greatly enhances their academic prestige).
