I can assume MM told his players in the TO not to shot the ball until under 7 or 8 seconds because we will get fouled. What do we do, 7 seconds after the TO, dribble to the mid lane area and try a 10 foot jump shot Is there a communication breakdown, players do their own thing or TO wasted by MM? Teachable moment again.

For whatever reason I watched the postgame interview with MM. He did say they've been doing extra free-throws in practice as he noted the 51% tonight.

MM comes off pretty mild-mannered. I sure hope he lit up the locker room later for that uninspired effort.

RE: Delta Devils @ Huskies predictions
NIU is one of the top free throw shooting teams in the country. They had a bad night. The problem with the team is the coach cannot be the guy with the most passion. Maybe, Monty is not the guy to bring it out of them. There is enough talent but there is a huge lack of passion and urgency, for the game. We are in trouble unless some one steps up. I feel Monty is a good coach and recruiter but not sure of his motivating skills. He definitely has the answers but can he motivate people?

Point is, NIU basketball is bad at a lot of things but free-throws has not been one of them. They shot them bad tonight but that has been rare, this season.

Baker should never see the court or only 5 minutes at the most. Bad game all around. This team will not contend with this kind of play. Right now I would say we are 10th in the MAC.

Cannot dispute anyone with negative outlooks anymore, if this team plays like this the rest of the year, its a 12 win team.

True. The 18 turnovers is a more worrisome stat from the "uninspired effort".

The guard play is brutal.

NIU shot 49% and still had to sweat because of the turnovers. Man.

52 also led NIU in turnovers tonight.

They won. They shot almost 50% as a team. They outrebounded the opposition by 20. All that despite Threloff only playing 15 minutes because of foul trouble.

NIU isn't at the point where they need to be apologizing for victories.

Wasn't really the guards tonight. Threloff (In 15 minutes), Bowie, and Rakocevic had 10 of the 18 turnovers.

They're a couple made shots in Charleston away from being 5-2. They're not going to win 20 games, but a 12 win team? I doubt it.
