FBS Rival
If Liberty ever gets an FBS invite, who most likely would become our natural rival? ODU? UVa? VT? App St.? Notre Dame? BYU? Someone else?

Natural rival. That would require playing yearly or almost yearly. If we and JMU get in the same conference, then JMU. If LU is fortunate and get an C-USA invite, then ODU. It's a big stretch now to include ND in the picture as LU is years away from even playing them, much less a rival. BYU would need to be in the same conference.

Yah, I know those last few were wishful thinking, but I was shooting for the stars. I think ODU is the most likely scenario, or App St.

RE: FBS Rival
I think a rivalry will develop somewhere. Once we knock someone off or get knocked off by someone, we'll soon have a rivalry. We won't come into the conference without a bunch of angry fans against us to begin with.

I'd like for us to schedule Notre Dame and Baylor in all sports in a rotating way so that we play them each home and home every 12 years or so. I think if we have 4 OOC games then I'd like to see two against the P5 and two against the G5. No FCS match ups. Rotate between the ACC/SEC for one P5 game and the other P5 game be between the B10/B12/P12.

If by some miracle we moved up tomorrow, my Sun Belt rival preference would be App State and the CUSA rival would be ODU because it would likely be by their help that we got into the respective conferences and they seem like good schools to partner with.

I'd like to partner with another school and try to work together to further our athletics together where we try to package ourselves together to go higher into FBS into a P5 conference.

RE: FBS Rival
Outside of ND vs. USC, most rivalries are regional or neighborly. I'm not counting on JMU and us getting FBS invites at the same time. So I'll go off the hope we move up to FBS. I'd think our rival would most likely be ODU. I don't think UVa or VT would be willing to schedule either of us on a regular basis. Too much for them to lose and nothing to gain. On the other hand ODU and Liberty would be comparable and most likely willing to play multiple game series with each other, developing a nice interstate rivalry. If we look across the border, I'd think App St., Maybe Charlotte. Not many other comparable (at this point) FBS teams close to LU.

RE: FBS Rival
App state had a huge rivalry with Ga. Southern that goes back for years and years. I don't see us taking their place. ODU could be a rival if we played more often.

ODU and JMU would be great rivals for LU as close regional rivals.
