Update on my life!
Some of you may remember on February 3rd 2012 I lost my wife suddenly to an Asthma attack. At the time of her death we had a five month old little boy. I'm here to report that my life is back on path. My little boy is three years old now. He's 3'6 48lbs a picture of health. However we recently found out he's got a touch of Asthma himself. I'm hoping he grows out of it. I have meet another woman. Who I love with all my heart, she is a widow with two kids. The three of them have been a blessing for me and little James. I have started a group for Widows and Widowers on Facebook. The group now has over 2600 members. We're helping members through tragedy and give them constant support. I also just completed my first semester in college. I miss my wife I think about her everyday. She's inspired me to do better for myself, to do better for our son and to do better for others. I was blessed to have her here on earth, but now I'm blessed to have her looking out for me from beyond.

God bless your family. I cannot imagine how incredibly difficult that has been for you. Incredible resilience and strength.

Blessings are hard to reconcile with during such times of tragedy, so it's great to hear that you have made peace and come out the other side.
As a father of a little girl with asthma and a life threatening nut allergy (which we learned the hard way) I can certainly sympathize with you with respect to having a child with it. Though perhaps not nearly enough considering what you have already been through.
I have been amazed at how much people don't understand how serious/significant asthma can be.
Best wishes and good luck!

Reading your post made me want to compliment you on your perseverance. Life is full of peaks and valleys, but we don't know when we'll get either or how high or low they will take us. Most who suffer the loss or disability of a spouse or child know a special kind of sorrow that to the outsider might appear irrational. It messes with you in ways only ones who have been though it understand. I applaud you for starting your group to reach out to others.
Many do not appreciate the things they have and take for granted like a marriage or a healthy child, as they callously cast them aside in pursuit of the selfishness our society too often promotes.
As the father of a little boy with a disability myself, I especially empathize. I have a very good friend, father of 6 children, who lost his wife to cancer a few years ago and thus was widowed. After a difficult time of adjustment, I'm happy to say he was recently married to a wonderful woman he met through his church.
I am happy you have found another woman, while still conveying your love for your spouse who passed on, which shows through your post. May all of you have a blessed holiday season!

Er, Dunn, I think that's called diarrhea.
Kidding aside, bully for you for making things better for you and your son. Just be a good husband, father and step father going forward. Don't ever think of your step children as "her" children but as "your" children too. Everyone will be better for it.

Great to hear from you Madeagle. Sounds like things are going well. I grew up with Asthma and was fortunate to grow out of it.
