Give him another 100K raise and then let him think about it. We need to be competitive against other schools regardless of which school is after him. Will be very hard to find another DC like him. Odom leaving may even cause us to loose some commits. I say up the money to him.

riiiiiight, Im sure he would stay here for $450k when Mizzou will pay nearly double that.... did you know he played for Mizzou?

The Administration stepping up is why we kept Odom this year.

That's him. Walton and Fichtner, those were two guys TW really liked. They were experienced coaches and he never quite got them replaced.

Walton was a great recruiter of DBs, Fichtner helped us land DeAngelo.

Walton was DC for only one year and we were not good.

We were not, but we were better that year than the years before or after. Walton would have built a good defense here if he had stayed.

actually it is GOOD NEWS for us!

1) It means that Odom believes that we will not be hiring a head coach this year!

2) It means that our program is good enough that coaches CAN move up ..have you heard any coaching grave yard comments lately?

3) It also means that Fuente will have a group of qualified candidates looking to move up the coaching ranks --they will see Memphis as a good career move! (I know this is similar to 2)

If Barry Odom Leaves, Two guys who might get first looks would be Ricky Hunley and Ryan Walters.....We will be fine....Coach General Justin Fuente knows what he is doing around here....University of Memphis, Delta's Team....The World Is Ours Memphis....

Also Craig Kuligoswki might be considered on a short list if Odom Leaves....I know them three would be considered....As would a few others....The World Is Ours Memphis....

That was his second time. His first time as a head assistant he did very well. He wasn't officially the DC but TW leaned on him for a lot.

Um No he wouldn't, Hunley/Walters/ Kuligowski/ A Texas Guy for sure on a list, and a few others....Believe me, If Odom leaves for Mizzou, Coach General Justin Fuente has a few guys in mind already and there Will not be ANY Leaks til he would be ready to choose such Coach for that job....University of Memphis, Delta's Team....The World Is Ours Memphis....
