Bowl ticket sales
How are ULL and ASU doing in bowl ticket sales?

I've heard USA has sold around 3,300 tickets out of 4,000. I think some USA fans are buying through Bowling Green since their tickets are $10 and South's are $25

Montgomery isn't doing much to support the bowl. As of today, around 11,500 tickets have been sold. Stadium seats 21,000.

We're ahead of last year's pace...at least that was the last report. No specific numbers yet though.

According to reports today, with one week left, UL has sold 11K through the university. No excuses, its pathetic. We'll end up with between 30 and 40K when all is said and done, still lame.

Z, if that crowd hits 40K I'd call it huge. There are just too many things conspiring against a big crowd this year.

What yard line are the seats you buy through the university?

Go Daddy just keeps giving us tickets on the visitors side, and as a school we give out the best tickets to the biggest donors until a certain point, then its every fan for himself.

Those numbers are REALLY underwhelming... I figured USA would have about double that by now.

6 days from the bowl game, and only 3,300 sold? I get that some USA fans are buying elsewhere, but that's flat out foolish on their part. Especially if the difference is $15.

Someone educate me on this, why is bowling Green seeking tickets for a different price? Is the school picking up the difference?

It's a shame there was no alternative Sunbelt team for the Camellia bowl.

That makes sense. App has a point system that rewards donors as calculated by years of giving and giving levels. We used that system for the national title tickets and money games. Hopefully we'll get a chance to use it again next year.

You guys playing for the national title next year? Please don't tell Georgia Southern......they'll run out of appeals.

Naw, I'm not trying to cry over spilled milk or look for things to bag on USA for... I'm just really surprised.

I want all Sun Belt bowl teams to show well. At WORST, it still helps Texas State. Next season, if we are in a similar situation, it makes other teams more appealing to at-large bids, theoretically opening up a Sun Belt bowl for us.

You'd make a lousy Georgia Southern fan.

Is it just me, or is that a depressing looking place to hold a bowl game?

RE: Bowl ticket sales
Mobile Bama, I saw your post on the Jag board. Where are the numbers coming from? On the Joey Jones Radio Show last week they announced 80% sold to donors/season ticket holders before they even went on sale to the public (which would be 3,200). I know students haven't taken advantage of all their tickets so they might have been added back to the pot.

Skully,
I called the ticket office and heard from a few other Jags fans close to the program that said 80% had been sold Friday. They didn't have an exact number. The USA fans will come out but I'm concerned about the locals. Hopefully the allotment sells out this week

That is what I was thinking as well. I can't really blame anyone for not wanting to go to Montgomery and play in that stadium.

I keep sayin'...we need the Little Debbie's Bobcat Bowl. They want attendance?, we can finish our horseshoe, add suites and be at 45K in about 1-2 yrs...if warranted.

Well that's a good way to hurt your school, and by proxy the other schools that are bowling since they have to make up the difference in lost ticket revenue through the revenue sharing the Sun Belt does.

At the very least the entire allotment needs to be sold.
