You mean the coach that went to the sweet sixteen in his second year?
No, the one who is 8-7.
Got it. By your analysis, Cal has only been to the NCAA once in the last two years. Probably should be fired immediately.

Nah. I get it. I'm just pointing out that everyone struggles and looks bad sometimes.

To be honest, I could never sit and watch a game and root against them, but at this point, I think I'll step back, stop watching, and check the box score where I won't be disappointed to see L after L the rest of the way. Screw Pastner. He sucks at his job and the program will be in shambles if we let him continue this year after year.
It can be big picture all you want, but down seasons happen every once in a while. You just have to live through it and keep cheering for your team.
BTW, if I understood what my bro-in-law told me over the holidays, Pastner has a contract guaranteed through 2020 - no buyout clause. So we can't afford to pay him and someone else for a while. You might be waiting for the coaching change for some time.
Not sure why people keep saying we can't buy Pastner out. The reality is we can't afford not to buy him out. Season attendance is down 16%, 2,500 people per game. If this keeps up next year we will be down another 2,500.
Down 5,000 people which is reasonable at an average of $750 a seat is 3.75 million.
If we don't get rid of him it will get even worse. Memphis can't afford to keep him
Attendance is different from tickets purchased. Plus, you have to assume that whatever ticket purchases you lose will be regained with a new coach. I don't think you're going to prove in replacing Pastner with a cost study. If it's done, it will be because some people with a lot of money - who don't care if it makes financial sense - want it done.
I promise you ticket sales will be down 5,000. If they aren't fedex will have purchased more than their norm. A study can be do e because you're right, if a new coach is hired you will regain the fan base and ticket sales thus the 3.75. That's conservative. 750 a seat is completely low balling it. It also doesn't include parking or concessions
One of the lounges now only has 2 bartenders instead of the normal 3.

Alford might be available at the end of this year. He's got sons that wanna play too.
Plus he comes with some rape coverup baggage from Iowa State.
Many UCLA fans were not happy when he was hired, have not been happy in any way and are calling for his head now--especially for the way he pimps his son as a team leader.
We might get him cheap.

I'll work on it. Maybe a change is all both of us need. Just gotta scratch that 'son clause' from his UCLA contract.

I know you've noticed this too, but for those that don't attend games, the forum has cut back everywhere during tigers games - 1 bartender where there were 2, less staff all-around, and closing quite a few places for Tigers games only.
This has not occurred prior to this year.

But that's saying the same thing, isn't it? To those who want Pastner gone as quickly as possible means the more they lose, the better.
No because the OP (or myself) would LOVE for Pastner to simply be removed because the program is spiraling down and a barely above .500 record is unacceptable. We would love to believe that he will be fired because losing to SF Austin at home, CBU at home or Tulane at home is unacceptable and that this is enough for his dismissal. We would love to believe that the powers that be will understand that despite a few low seeds and first round blastings that this program could be doing better. We just don't believe that they see that. If the only way to save this program from another year of Pastner is by losing 20 straight games then so be it. I wish there was another way but it doesn't feel like that is the case.

Nothing really more to say than this right here...now all we can do is wait.
