Pookie is a D1 player. This kid isnt. It was a joke that he got in before him the other night.

A D1 player who only plays one end of the court.

You'd rather have Kedren out there? He's slower than you are.

I'd really like to see some examples as to where Pookie is any worse on defense than anyone else. It was 16-6 when he checked into the game and we cut it to 3 before Markel got hurt

Pookie is just fine on defense. His feet are quick and he works the entire shot clock most possessions. Not sure what Nrcdbl is talking about.

And even if he was I don't think our problem is defense when we have 6 points at the 10 minute mark.

O.K. If you still have the game on DVR, TIVO etc. at the 15:19 to go in the first half an OKla. St. player throws a pass right over him standing within 3 ft. of him to an open player for 2 pts. 9 seconds later he drove to the corner of the half court and got trapped, lost the ball leading to a lay up for the cowboys. Pookie did do some nice things offensively to offset those mistakes in the first half. Just pointing out that smaller guards can be shot and passed on easier than say a 6'4-6'5 guard. Unless they are making a lot of steals and disrupting the offense they are a liability on defense.

Try again. Pookie didn't check into the game until the 10 minute mark.

Defense has nothing to do with the ball being thrown over his head (it also sounds like you're talking about Cunningham rather than Pookie). It's about moving your feet, knowing where you need to be when your man is screening or being screened, making sure those around you are aware of what your man is doing and their man is doing, staying with your man throughout the shot clock and contesting shots. Just because a ball went over his head doesn't mean a player plays bad defense.

Okie States guards weren't exactly giants either. Both Hickey and Forte are like 6-2 at best.

Agree - Cunningham looked good. He knows how to attack. Pookie also looked good - lots of nice passes.

Everybody looked great last night except the crowd. The opponent affected both.

At least some of us low budgets got to sneak down to the club level at the half.

We had some brazen ones last night that snuck down into the floor seats after halftime.
