I am a HUGE Hallmon fan. I wasn't bashing the secondary, I was actually pertaining to the Marshall game (53 points),which means the defense got exposed.

Marshall had one of the best offenses and QBs in the country. NIU was played 3 true freshmen in the secondary. Hallmon wouldn't have fixed that problem.

Hallmon? We're talking about Hallmon? WTF.....we don't even know if he can play. We'll find out soon enough. We saw some solid play fronsome FR and sometimes they don't last. We will find out if Hallmon an play contribute or whatever. One thing is for sure members ers on this board were over the top giddy about him signing last spring. He did not live up to the hype - not the kids fault all the hype.

He will vet his shot and we will all know. One of the great things about football if you feel you are betel than the guy ahead of you on the depth chart. You can move up - by being more physical and knocking him and others on their a**. Again we're going to find out soon enough.

How has he not lived up to the hype if he hasn't played a down yet? I get that he was redshirted and other freshman played right away, but that doesn't mean his talent isn't there. The coaches may have just wanted to mold his talent a little bit more. I agree with you though, we know nothing about his play since he has yet to play a down. We will know soon enough.

That's the point relative to people stating he had over 40 offers and was offered by Alabama. That talk was crazy ralk. Time will tell he could be a home run or a strikeout. We're going to find out soon.

I couldn't agree more. Hallmon alone could not fix that problem for sure. But, I am looking forward to seeing how he fits into the defensive scheme along with Adjustments on Offense. While scheme is important in that it does give your team an approach – a philosophy if you will – the most important element to scheme is being fundamentally sound in your approach. They need to become more of a multiple style offense where they go under the center more and use more of a play action passing attack.

How great was Marshall Really???? They lost to Western Kentucky... definitely not as established as NIU. Let's stop with the excuses here. The football facilities are open now and lets get back to work. Coffee anybody?

They were better than NIU was last year, by a lot.

Yep Marshall was a much better football team than NIU, they had a different level of athlete than the Huskies and it showed.

But you have to keep in mind that was possibly Marshall's best team ever (and at worst the best team since Moss), and it was NIU's worst team in the last 5 years.
