While keeping Petteway's numbers reasonable is an obvious need, shields is also capable of a 20+ night.

RE: Nebraska game
They'll be looking to avoid their third loss, we're coming off a long break. I think, with the loss of their one center, they'll be soft on the inside(which is our strength with this roster) and our perimeter defenders should be able to keep the damage dealt by their two good players to a minimum. This isn't last year's defense though, where 1-5 could switch and guard anybody they faced. I'd expect zone from Mick tonight, lots of zone.

That's about right. Gonna be hard to go in there and win. They're not going to want to lose 3 straight.

Little Ziggy Stardust (Lush, Kris) couldn't handle the pressure of all the beer and booze at my place. Hell, I barely can. SuperFly, I will be back on the 23rd and be home until March when I'm going on another cruise. You can have it until I get back. Lovely West Side apartment looking down on PBS and the bend in the Ohio River.

RE: Nebraska game
Need this game tonight. The AAC ain't looking to good. How do you like this article from Mr. Sunshine on game day:
AAC's struggles may cost Bearcats
Bill Koch, bkoch@enquirer.com
The American Athletic Conference made a legitimate case that it was one of the premier basketball leagues in the country in 2013-14, its first year of existence.
The league produced the national champion in Connecticut, had five teams ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 and placed four teams in the NCAA Tournament.
But this season has been a different story. Less than three weeks before conference play begins, the American ranks ninth among all Division I conferences, according to Jerry Palm of CBSSports.com. It has no teams ranked in the AP Top 25 and none even receiving votes.
The American is 0-7 vs. teams ranked in the RPI Top 25, 2-7 vs. teams in the Top 50, and 5-18 against teams in the Top 100.
That makes the University of Cincinnati's current stretch of three games – beginning with Saturday night's late game at Nebraska – crucial to the Bearcats' postseason hopes.
The league's slippage was not unexpected given that Louisville left for the Atlantic Coast Conference and that three first-team All-Americans – UC's Sean Kilpatrick, Louisville's Russ Smith and UConn's Shabazz Napier – all completed their eligibility last season.
"That's why we played a dangerous team like Stony Brook," said UC coach Mick Cronin. "That's why we went to the tournament in Destin. That's why we're playing the schedule that we're about to play with the three in a row (at Nebraska, at home vs. No. 18 San Diego State, and at home vs. Virginia Commonwealth). And then N.C. State and Xavier late. We've got five serious non-league games still coming."
When UC was a member of the Big East Conference from 2005 through 2013, scheduling quality non-league competition wasn't as important from an RPI standpoint, although fans still clamored for big-name opponents. Cronin and the other Big East coaches knew they would have plenty of opportunities in conference play to bolster their NCAA Tournament resumes. That's not the case this year in the AAC.
UConn was ranked No.17 and SMU No. 22 in the preseason AP poll, with both Memphis and UC receiving votes. But UConn is 3-3 and riding a three-game losing streak that includes a loss at home to Yale. Memphis is 3-3 with a home loss to Stephen F. Austin. SMU is 6-3, although it's riding a four-game winning streak. And UC is 6-1, but without a signature win.
All four teams were projected to play in the NCAA Tournament when the season began. For that to happen, they'll have to get some help from their non-conference opponents as the season unfolds.
"That's why you don't want Nebraska to lose (after the UC game)," Cronin said. "As much as Bearcat fans don't want to hear this, you root for Xavier. You root for N.C. State. All your non-league opponents, you want them to win, but that's no different than any other team. You're always hoping those teams win because it helps your strength of schedule."

If the Oregon @ Illinois game goes to OT, something is getting thrown against the wall.

Anyone got an option for us Cbell users who for some reason can't get BTN even though we are apparently in the heart of Big Ten country when it comes to regional coverage?
