Like I said, not sure the point of the post and I probably missed something funny, but I can't stand anyone who gives our service members anything less than the utmost respect even on a sports message board.

Way to call out the admin on his own message board. If that doesn't deserve a suspension, I don't know what does.

I know this will be an unpopular response, however ive been around the military and military people my entire life. My father had a long career which culminated in his death in vietnam and i have known many many people who served in the military, some long term some short. That being said blind allegiance to any group is ridiculous. The military is not unlike the general population, some people are deservivg of great respect because of their lives and the way they live it. Others however are deserving of a modicum of respect, while others deserve no respect at all. So to say anyone who is in the military or has served deserves the utmost respect is nieve at best and perhaps it is you who is a judgemental piece of #%&!.

Lighten up dont try to be the morality police.
I don't disagree with anything you said above. I saw the post immediately after finishing the movie Lone Survivor, so the idea that countless young people give their lives in defense of our way of life was on my mind.
The post came off harsh, which was it's intent, however it probably didn't need to be said.

FWIW, If i owned a board and someone "called me out", I wouldn't necessarily suspend him. I might applaud him, if on further review I realized i deserved to be called out.
In this case, I don't know what to make of the original post -is it an insult, sarcasm, funny, etc... I don't "get it" so don't know, and so have no opinion about what response is warranted.

No it didn't. Those men and women don't need you out here "defending" them. Last I checked, this was still America although that doesn't seem to matter all that much anymore.
Quite frankly, I cant stand anyone who makes a big "moral stand" against people expressing their rights that service members "fight to protect". That is what we call hypocrisy. Get over yourself.
Personally, I appreciate our service members, I was one but I don't worship the Armed Services or the men and women that CHOOSE to serve in them. I give them respect but if I see someone acting like a complete idiot in a thread like this then I have to say something. The OP simply took a picture of a poster that another Service member made and then he reposts it here so that we can see what is going on there.
So **** you and your faux patriotism.
"Oh I just saw this movie, now I'm all fired up!" Please, you are a bigger insult to service members than any sign like that.

Literally been associated with the Army my whole life.
Reality is that countless young people are not giving their lives. Many people join the army because they have no other options, some join it because they are too lazy to go to school, and while some of those become hero's many ride it out and pray not to ever have to actually do anything besides collect a check and work out.
Just like cops, some are hero's and some are just thugs wearing a uniform.

From what I have seen GTS gives zero plucks about what people think about him lol.

"I'm in the Navy!" gets me every time.
That is the only competition we have been whipping the Navy in recently. Videos.
For the surprising number of you who don't get the original pic in this thread ... here's a hint: That soldier might make off with your crab legs if you aren't paying attention.

Guess you were never connected with Seals, most marines, special forces and even the airborne.
You left out a few groups, which was foreigners trying to get their citizenship quicker. People looking for gaining a trade, people looking to use the GI Bill and intergenerational families.
No other options is very strong for someone looking for an opportunity to better their lives and serve their country. Never meet anyone that joined because they were to lazy to go to school. Where did that come from?
(This post was last modified: 12-14-2014 03:00 PM by Steve1981.)
Many young men join the military simply because they have reached a point in there life where they feel they need to continue thier education for a better financial future or join the military. Most are choosing the military because they are intellectually lazy only to find out pretty quickly they are physically lazy too. They leave the military as quickly as possible because of this.
I know several who left after four years because they couldnt leave sooner.
I suggest these are the people that choose the military because they are too lazy for school.
I served for 10 years, and served in combat. I saw nothing offensive about the sign. If that's not a photoshop, its a pretty good dig at Jameis Winston, and it reflects what many people joke about with the Army's recruiting. Probably an inside joke amongst branches of the service. I personally have the utmost respect for our Army brethren. Nothing to see here.

The puzzle would be how it is only Army that deserves that respect, so that supporting a dig by Navy midshipmen against Army cadets at the Army/Navy game is somehow a slam against all service members who have lost their lives.
I support Navy, for no reason except that my brother was a submariner, and I thought it was hi-freaking-larious.
