#BLACK LIVES MA. . .

. . .oh wait, the murderer wasn't white.

After the arraignment, Archer’s mother, Lavon Rash, said her son’s death was senseless.

“It’s just sad he had to go like this,” Rash said. “He’s supposed to be in school going to college. If you go in his room, all he had was college stuff,” Rash said of her son, who was a senior at East Boston High School.

Walsh said Bonnie “shot him once in the back of the head when he was not looking.”

Virginia Ofegbu, 22, who said she’s Bonnie’s girlfriend, said prosecutors and police don’t have a strong case.

“There’s no way he’s going to do life in jail,” she said. “They have a bunch of hearsay.”

That's why.

So we arrest people if we're unsure if it was self defense now? There's a difference in self defense and execution.

Only if the killer gets away with it.

Of course they care. They just aren't going to protest unless the killers get away with it.

Well, considering that close to 40% of murders go unsolved, that would mean that a ton of black men are getting killed and the perpetrator doesn't get caught. And since most homicides are interracial - that generally whites kill whites and blacks kill blacks - that means that a staggering number of black men get killed by other black men - what's the number, 93%.

Is it telling that there aren't any riots and protests when a killing occurs so long as it's one black guy killing another? I guess in that case, it's ok.

While I'll agree that the guy in New York certainly didn't deserve to die, is his death so much more important than the 100 other black men that were killed last week (and every week) by other black men?

Where are the protests and rage for those men, aren't they just as dead and their families just as devastated?

If it tells you anything, it's that too many people are getting killed. You can't protest every single death.

Maybe not, but I don't see protesters out protesting ANY of these deaths. NONE.

Don't you find it telling that there are upwards of 100 young black men killed a week, and never a protest? Where is the outrage for that?

Look, while I think the Grand Jury got it right in Ferguson, the New York and Cleveland situations are different and it appears that the police "didn't get it right". I'm not convinced their actions were criminal, but at minimum, it appears they lacked the correct requisite judgement to continue being policemen.

With that said, I have trouble with folks that take only these specific situations and call for action when there is a vastly larger problem that is all but ignored.
