Could this conference compete with the SEC?
Lets say the SEC expanded to 16 with North Carolina and Duke. Then the B1G Ten also expanded with UCONN, BC, ND, Pitt, Cuse, and UVA. Then WVU left the Big 12 to go east with Clemson, VT, etc. Leaving the Big 12 to expand west with UNM, SMU, UH, Rice, Tulane, BYU, Col St.
Could the left over ACC schools form a conference that covered most of the SEC foot print and compete against the SEC?
This would be an idea of what this conference would look like:
NORTH
West Virginia
Virginia Tech
Louisville
Cincinnati
EAST
NC State
East Carolina
Clemson
Georgia Tech
SOUTH
Florida State
UCF
South Florida
Miami
WEST
Memphis
Southern Miss
Louisiana
Birmingham (A rebranded UAB team)

UAB?
You're considering whether a conference with a team that currently does not exist could compete with the SEC?
I... I...

...I just don't know what to say, man.

Could this conference compete with the SEC?
Umm I will bite, on any given day I say No, on occasion a dog gets a bone.
The only way I would say yes is if they money was the On par to the SEC leading to better facilities, coaches, and recruits eventually leading to more consistent wins.
For UAB I would go Houston.

No. And I'd take the current ACC over it.

RE: Could this conference compete with the SEC?
I think he's saying that announcement that UAB will no longer play football is just a publicity stunt so they can come back as a team known as Birmingham (like how Charlotte dropped the UNC). And speaking of UNC, like how former UNC great Michael Jordan "retired" to play baseball only to unretire.
Well, that and the fact he's trolling and sitting back and laughing at each response.
