You may be kidding but a LOT of NSU students are pushing to transfer to ODU due to the situation. So, there is that.

Any football players worth giving a look? Maybe non-qualifiers out of HS that have gotten their stuff together in college?

The Hampton Roads area needs NSU to stay accredited, it provides options for a lot of kids. ODU can't absorb that many students, think it's about 8K.

Back in the late 70's I took classes at NSU toward my major that weren't offered by ODU, had a good experience there. We need to support HBCUs.

RE: NSU Pete Adrian.
I had gotten to know at least 20 NSU transfers in my undergrad years. Sure, HBCUs get a bad rap, but when NSU beat Missouri in the big dance, there wasn't one student between the two schools not happy. Its bad for the Norfolk area when a school gets lopsided, but that new president is doing his best. Kyle O'Quinn still hanging in there with the NBA, Bob Dandridge was a great player for the Bucks. Even in football, Lyndon Trail is joining TH at the Shriner game.

Adrian wasn't that bad of a coach, considering the resources at his disposal.

Trail is actually playing in the Senior Bowl also.

Latrell Scott named as new NSU football head coach. According to the attached story, Scott had good success at Va. State. I hope he is able to resurrect the program at NSU. It would take a fairly large leap of faith for me to take the NSU job given the current situation with probation, etc.

He took a perpetually mediocre Virginia State program and immediately made them one of the CIAA's best in his two years there. Virginia State has had their own issues with finances, so he knows how to recruit in difficult circumstances. He should do well for NSU.

Norfolk State is MEAC. Virginia State is still CIAA. There had been a little discussion about them moving up because next year they're opening an arena that seats 5,100 for basketball. But I've heard nothing about that for some time.

I do have old-school roots, though.

Yes, we are on probation right now. It happens to plenty of schools and most of the time, they pull themselves out. It's coming from our last president that didn't believe in paperwork and deadlines. Moore has done 3 years of work in one. We will be fine come September 2015.
Also, its great reading so many post cheering us on through this. Thanks #757together

As always Booman, good to hear from you and see you are so positive. It is nice to learn of the new President's proactive attack to resolve issues that occurred in the past. We all wish for NSU to quickly move forward and achieve the goals needed to mold and educate young men and woman who will inspire generations to come. Best of luck to the Green and Gold * Go NSU!
